IP/DHCP reset scripts
I recently posted about a certain file sharing provider instituting daily limits.
I'm looking for ways around this and the only thing I can see is to get a new IP address from my ISP. The only way I have figured out how to change my IP is to use the MAC cloning feature of my router to give it a new MAC address, then do a full reboot of my router and then my cable box. I am using an RT-AC68U router with an Arris SB6141 router. My provider is COX cable. It looks like Jdownloader has a mechanism for trying to automate these reboots with scripts of some sort, but I can't seem to get this to work. Can someone give me some pointers and/or verify my particular combination of devices (or my described process of getting a new IP) is supported by jdownloader? Thanks! |

You've got to write/setup a script/tool that automates this process and then you can set this as external reconnect method.
You could also write a liveheader script that does this for you but that's more complex.
