This site can’t be reached
Using Jdownloader 2, I encountered a problem. A crazyshare.cc link requested a captcha via a browser. But I got the " This site can’t be reached" error on chrome, opera and mozilla. I'm new at reporting these things.
"15.08.17 13.20.25 <--> 15.08.17 13.32.46 jdlog://4045314015941/ |

The links don't work. I've tried flushing the DNS. 17.08.17 08.52.02 <--> 17.08.17 12.25.33 jdlog://6217314015941/

I am using avast and I don't think I changed dns settings. I am able to get online etc I seem to keep getting "This site can’t be reached 127.0.0.1 took too long to respond." error.

You should find out why your DNS reports 127.0.0.1 for domains!
Do you use any VPN tools? Any IP blacklister tools?

No.

From what I found you should check your system for virus/trojans. If you are 100% sure that none of your tools messes with DNS, then it is very likely an infection.

Just to make it clear. Any domain resolving to 127.0.0.1 is either
-very bad vpn/proxy tool -dns/ip blocker tool -infected

My systems host file only states "127.0.0.1 localhost". I've checked viruses with malewarebytes, avast and they found only a few pups. Even disabling adblock on chrome and avast didn't help.

What dns server do you use? Maybe try to change to google dns
Also you should use some linux scan distros because scanning an infected system, depending on the virus/trojan, the scanner might not be able to detect it anymore

It seems that both pcs are using the same dns servers. I am running a windows 7 pc so I wouldn't know how to use the distros. I have used anti rootkits from avast, malewarebytes, bitdefender, tdss killer and none have found anything. Although GMER found something but I don't know whether it should be removed.

I also did a boot scan with avast and this is what I got.

OK. So I uninstalled superantispware, avast and malewarebytes. When I did that I kept getting the same error. I don't know how to change the dns to google.

I've been asking other forums about other computer problems I have and I stumbled upon Microsoft Autoruns 13.71. With this app I discovered that I still had remnants of AVG in my system. So I tried to delete these with the app but I couldn't remove it. So I tried avg remover and that didn't help either until I started to use avg clean which was able to clean out avg completely. I later used avg remover just in case there was anything left over. Once avg was removed I was able to access the site in order to get the captcha I needed from crazyshare. But now it seems keep2share links don't seem to work when as I last recall they were working just fine before the avg removal. I am getting an "try restarting this link (plugin outdated?)" error message. I always keep jdownloader up to date by the way.

K2Share update got released a few minutes ago. K2s introduced RecaptchaV2 and therefore a plugin update was required.
Thanks for the feedback about the avg removal tool. !
