May I ask why you want to disable it? What disadvantages does this feature bring you?

Thank you for your quick response. I use the MPC-HC player to watch downloaded YouTube videos. Previously, I could skip to the next video by jumping forward. However, after an update, it now only skips to the next chapter, which can be annoying for some videos. If I'm not interested in a YouTube video and want to move on to the next one, it's frustrating, especially when the video has many chapters.

@scenic: thanks for the followup. Shouldn't there be a hotykey for next file as well? I just found CTRL+Page Up/Down for next/previous file? see techguruplus.com/media-player-classic-shortcut-keys-list/
But you can disable the meta data handling. I will check and maybe add finer settings for this

Apart from that it looks like that "MPC-HC player" is not maintained since 2017.
They even recommend switching to another player on their own website.

He did not, but would that is my conclusion as the other old version most likely would run into problems nowadays

Yes, I did, thanks for the tip.
But I can't map the hotkeys to the forward and backward buttons on my mouse. I would need to create a separate mouse profile for the application. It's easier for me to just adjust the youtube.metadataenabled setting.

Thanks for the feedback! When I find time I will rework setting so you can enable/disable specific meta data features and not all on/off

Maybe additionally to asking us for said setting, you want to ask the developers of the "mpc-hc player" to add a setting for the skip behavior and/or provide better hotkey settings.

Okay, ich kann jetzt also im VLC-Player die einzelnen Chapter ansteuern und wiedergeben. Meine ursprüngliche Vorstellung war es jedoch, dass man die einzelnen Chapter auch als separate Dateien herunterladen und speichern kann. (s. meine Anfrage vom 11.6.21)

Dies ist nicht geplant.
Du kannst das Video nachträglich mit externer Software in die einzelnen Kapitel unterteilen.
Du könntest dies auch mithilfe eines EventScripter Scripts automatisieren, das nach dem Download eine beliebige Videodatei in die einzelnen Kapitel aufsplittet.

Ich möchte ergänzen, dass es auch kostenlose Tools gibt, die das können (z.B. yt-dlp), aber deren Usability ist ggf nicht so selbsterklärend, wie die von dir verlinkten Tools.
