Remember previous downloads without keeping the downloaded file list
Hi,
There is a neat feature that warns us when a file already has been downloaded, with red highlight in linkGrabber list but also with a message warning us before we dl it, asking us if we are sure to download a duplicate of previous existing download. I assume that this feature only works as long as the said download stays in the list of downloaded files from "downloads" tab. But the problem is that after awhile this list can get extremely long and it might be a good idea to reset it. Would Jdownloader still recognize a file that was already downloaded even if the Download list has been reset? If not, is there a way to get this feature while still being able to clean the download list once in a while? Or if not, are we just expected to keep the list forever and if so, would it impact the performance of the PC? Like is there a difference of performance between an empty dl list and a list with already hundreds of thousands of downloads? Thank you. |

Same topic as here:
https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=96430 Please read that linked thread. TL;DR - JDownloader was never ment to keep a real "download history" - Currently there are unofficial solutions via EventScripter script - At this moment, I do not see us ever adding a "proper history feature" - JDownloader is open source; feel free to contribute code yourself: https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...up-ide-eclipse
