(the latest one we provided for XP)
Don't overwrite existing binary but place somewhere else and then setup path in Settings-Advanced Settings-search for ffmpeg and ffprobe.
You can change path via rightclick context menu
Newer ffmpeg versions no longer support XP/Vista

Actually it's MORE complicated than you think...
In fact, regarding the outdated FFmpeg issue, I DID HAVE tackle that last year (upon the admin's suggestions) with success... until later towards the end of 2018

This is what I'm experiencing exactly right now: the AUTOMATIC RESET of FFmpeg folder location AT EVERY PROGRAM RESTART is a BIG problem which I did not experience back in July.
In my case, I have had a separate folder for the XP-compatible FFmpeg version (say, "i386_legacy"), so the folder location would be set to
C:\Program Files\JDownloader v2.0\tools\Windows\ffmpeg\i386_legacy\
However, after restarting JD2, the folder location resets again to...
C:\Program Files\JDownloader v2.0\tools\Windows\ffmpeg\i386\
Since when did user settings are NOT saved and being reset? That was NOT the case before!!
In the end I had to manually copy and paste the two FFmpeg files to the i386 folder. This temporarily solves the problem, albeit not with 100% success (when tackling YT downloads).
So perhaps the main issue now is the program bug in that user settings are NOT being saved?
Please advise and investigate!!!
