Smile Keeps crashing

Hi
IVE GOT A PROBLEM. My pc keeps crashing and turning off every time, it does 5 - 6 programs then crashes.
I've proved it time & time again, I thought it was only when downloading the links, but it happens when I am downloading to my folder too.
I tried another JDownloader and changed the cfg too but it still happened. So I tried another JDownloader (that's 3 now) only this time I DID NOT change the cfg. AND tried it with nothing Else altered at all. And it still did it.
It does not do it if the program is just opened but not running.
I've had the screen saver "Switcher setup531" but I have that as long as I can remember & Jdownloader too, had them both for years. Nothing out of the usual is running.

So now I just do not know what to do apart from wipe the PC with Jdownloader completely and try again, unless you can think of anything?

You should check fan of CPU if it's working, also check the temperature of CPU..
Does it crash = freeze/bluescreen or just auto reboot?

Smile

Hi Jiaz,
It looks like now i am looking in the wrong place, but just have a look at this?

Sorry, When it shuts down there is no warning it just shuts down all together. I have physically switch it on again.
There is no warning or script it just shuts down.
Im on win 7 (As usual) as C:
AMD fx 8350 4.00GHz
Ive got 16GB Ram. 64 bit OS.

So there is no connection between Dve 0 & Dve 1
I have replaced the fan 2 mths ago(old one was split). The CPU im not sure but there no reason to suspect it.

Ive had it running for 1hr now and it fine but suddenly it will shut down again ( but it hasn't today) at any time as long as the Jdownloader is running.
As far as Jdownloader goes its been at those specs for ever, I think.
Ive got a feeling i might have the download speed to high, ill bring it down a bit. To may be 5mb

I dont know but I am downloading at the moment and it seems alright, 5MB/s & 3 files at a time, that could be it.
Oh ive got 2 PC@s (win 7 & win 10but only Jdownloader win 7) off the same router from Vir

Suddenly shut down sounds like something with the power supply. or cpu/something else overheating.
You should run a tool showing cpu temperature all the time and check if it's high.

Oh Man!!! I thought it's only me.

@Jiaz, i am having a sudden freeze problem with JD running (downloading). Occurs randomly and started happening a couple of weeks ago. Usually cpu usage goes high after hours of downloading with JD (slow hosters take more than 12 hours sometimes), and suddenly boom.... my PC freezes and only hard reset works. No BSOD or anything in event viewer. I moved the JD folder to another drive but no use. Checked immediately in bios after a hard reset and temperatures were in normal range.

Also checked for more than a day of not running JD at all, and no crash.

Am on Intel, Win 10 x64, 24GB Ram.

@ron101: thanks for the feedback

@reddevil: PC freezes are a sign of hardware/driver issues. Normal user space application cannot cause this. If it would be possible for user space to do this, then you don't need any virus/trojan at all if you could just shutdown/crash the victim computer that easily.
What do you mean by *cpu usage goes high*? What do you mean by high? What's the CPU/GPU temperatures at that time?

I know it's mostly hardware/driver, but all checks out for now. All the freezes that i have had in the past weeks is only when i open a minimized JD, or add links via drag n drop to JD or just scroll through JD (all the times JD was actively downloading). My current JD usage while downloading is around 40 to 60% of CPU.

I have performed a network reset, installed drivers anew, updated all the latest windows 10 updates, stopped every other possible software in the background but always the common factor was the active JD.

Will monitor cpu / gpu closely and report later.

@reddevil: I'm not saying that it is NOT JDownloader. I'm just saying that JDownloader is not the cause but it might of course trigger the cause/issue in hardware/drivers/other tools.

Have you checked your memory with Memtest86 yet?
Also how *old* is your JDownloader installation? Maybe driver/os issues in older Java Version.
you can reinstall with newer java, see https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
just copy over the complete cfg folder of your installation to keep all settings/links/accounts.

I checked memory a few days ago with the inbuilt Windows 10 boot menu and was ok. Am guessing now its mostly CPU temperature. Will use 'Core Temp' to monitor later.

My current JD:

@reddevil: please also check with memtest86, had several ppl with memory issues that were found via memtest86 but windows did not.
Thanks for about dialog, shows a recent installation of JDownloader, so it's okay

Thanks for feedback. In that case I don't have many more ideas left, sorry :(
Next test would be to check OS/Hardware issue, eg booting ub a Ubuntu/Linux Distro from USB and test a long download session with it
