I'm not sure if this helps, but here are 2 facts about the latest YT plugin DASH problem:
- For me, it happened after an update, which suggests that it wasn't YT who changed anything on their side.
- A Firefox add-on that also downloads DASH streams and uses ffmpeg to mux them is still working properly, which also suggests that YT did not change anything.
Is there a way one can revert to the YT plugin version that existed prior to the last update?
@users who have "plugin out of date problems", where is the log?
It only happens with DASH/1080p videos.

After disabling the "Subtitles"-checkbox, JD2 now lists 16 versions instead of 9.
So that's where the bug probably is.
That checkbox being checked is the default setting, btw.
PS: After resetting the plugin's settings and setting it to show all possible variants, it's now showing 0 (zero) downloads when "Subtitles" is checked, and 16 when it's unchecked.
EDIT: itags 134 (360p DASH) and 136 (720p DASH) are not being parsed in any case. Probably because they're available as a normal stream?
EDIT2:
Updating to Feb 03 18:31:17 fixes the issue with the "Subtitles"-checkbox.
when downloading youtube videos, the .srt does not download.
Linkgrabber indicates file is offline.
When sent to downloading, file indicates "file not found".

I have about 50 YT links in jD2 and all of them are set to download 360p MP4 video.
All of the older videos download as MP4's just fine.
All of the new videos that I add to jD2 download as video+audio streams that need to be merged and that takes quite a while.
Why? Why is this extra step in there for videos I just added? I can still download MP4 files from jD, Firefox addons etc. without the need to merge them.

jd should download ffmpeg automatically. But if this doesn't work you can set the path manually in advanced settings in "FFmpegSetup: Binary Path".
I re-downloaded the JDownloader package and checked for updates - still no joy?
when youtube videos include closed captioning, beta says the file is offline.
downloading the .srt file worked for me previously but stopped suddenly, do you know why?

Debian is currently in the process of deprecating ffmpeg in favor of libav. Meanwhile, JDownloader 2 Beta currently forces ffmpeg on the user. When trying to point the "FFmpegSetup: Binary Path" key to avconv, JDownloader complains there is no "ffmpeg." Perhaps JDownloader is checking the executable name or version output.
If so, that's silly. The "FFmpeg" key series should be given a generic name, and checking of the executable should be eliminated. Obviously, "Merge Command" should have useful default values, perhaps with an initial warning when actual values deviate from these defaults, but ultimately it should be of no concern to JDownloader how the user splices streams. This would make things easier for the JDownloader developers, as well, as doing so would free them from the responsibility of chasing down syntactical changes.
