Android app?
Not for remote control but for the same functions from the desktop app replicated on a mobile app

Really don't see this happening. We do not have the time to make it happen either.
best solution is the remote control for now. raztoki

I doubt that there will be a native version at all as the restrictions are too heavy. No side loading of plugins/code and that would mean the plugins/support for sites won't work long/at all as it would take much much longer for the whole (official) update process.
Also downloading to a smartphone would reduce life time of its storage faster As MyJDownloader service is still under development and many features yet to come, I don't think that we'll work on any *native* stuff in future.

But think of TV Boxes running some kind of Android. Would be really nice to see that feature to download to external HDD and run videos directly from that TV Box

@drnice: yes, of course there are other devices running on android. But at the moment there are no concrete plans for a native version
