I think it has defintely improved.

Obviously, Java is CPU hungry when it comes to lavish themes, but it's OK now.

Better than 0.5 or 0.6.
Still worse than 0.4 in most respects.

So I won't vote either good or evil.
But there is hope.

Also, according to the "About" window, it' now version 7.504, not 0.7x.

Which is sensible, once released for a year or more it is silly to keep a pre-release number (i.e. < 1).

The jDownloader 0.7 is one of the BEST software i EVER used in my life. I'm using Linux, but it always could be a little faster and have better response for commands, but therefore, it's still VERY VERY GOOD.

GOOD work!, keep doing!

1. http://board.jdownloader.org/showpos...25&postcount=9
2. Deep unrar isn't working yet.
3. Slow GUI, not sure it can be considered as a bug, but previous versions (even nightly ones) was significantly faster.
Also I don't like the time/date offsets in log instead of normal time/date. I can live w/o deep unrar and offsets in log and even with annoying GUI reaction, but not with "missing premium", so I have to return to 0.6913.

I tried to download the 0.7 install/zip file TWICE from rapidshare, and it was corrupted with CRC errors on some internal files. :(

Default new jd

I think the new JDloader is way better...the interface is much more freindly and just plain easyer to setup...I think some of the other features need to be some how explained...its a fairly complex downloader with many features... be nice if there was some better support on all of its various features.....im not totally sold on Java platfoms but overall the effort into this has been pretty outstanding!!!

Excellent. Just a question. I filled this anonym decrypter thing that was outdated and it was solved almost instantly. The thing is that it hasnt passed in the official release through the update until today. I used jdupdate.jar and the button inside jd to update plugins several times. Am i missing something about the normal update proccess or it takes time? Not rushing devs, just checking how things work.
So i had to update to nightly, not a bad thing since there are some new cool features.

The first impression when using the new version is it loads a lot more faster than the previous version, and also I like the new way of updating process. But, the new JDownloader is using RAM like drinking water. I have JDownloader running (with window opened) for about half day, and it uses all my computer memory and crash. When I take a look at the Task Manager, I found that the RAM usage of JDownload keep on increasing nearly every second. The RAM usage also keep on increasing even it is minimized to systray, but only at a slower speed. The only way I can reduce the memory usage is to open up the JDownload window and then minimize it back to systray again.

Hope there is a fix to memory usage problem soon.

Well... I didn't have that heavy usage of RAM issue after using for about 14 hours (2GB RAM)... Problem is with the Premium accounts gets deactivated if for some reason I lose my internet connection for a minute or Just starting JD. Premium accounts wont login on its own. Worked good in .6.913

Other than that, I think everything is quite fine. also link grabber works even better now. and new update system is great.

I am new to JDownloader, just used 0.9.193 for a week and now 0.7.504. My OS is Ubuntu 9.04 x64.

I like 0.7 much better. Better GUI and now MU and HF links also work OK.

Default upgraded now my downloads are slow

I just upgraded this weekend and now my netload premium account down loads are very slow. Not sure why this is but previous JDownloader allowed almost ten times faster down load speeds. Did any one else have same problem or maybe a solution. thanks

Default Overall good stuff ....

Long wait for the new version, generally way much more excellent better.
Good:
1) Many fixed hosters
2) Different (better) interface
3) Lilnkgrabber package names now work correctly off of the file names
4) Easier way to deal with accounts (very much better)
5) A whole lot of things now work as they should.
6) Stable ... ran 48hours no crash, downloading continuously.

Bad:
1) Seizes up a bit, but after a while comes back.
2) Slooow screen repaint at times, I have tried multiple sytles but still a bit sluggish.
(QUESTION: Can we have just a PLAIN skin, even the 2D one is slow at times)

Overall:
Excellent!
Especially the point where you can now slipstream in hoster updates, instead of waiting for an an entire new release.
Hopefully, now that it is out with functions, you can tune it a bit for performance.

Test System [download box]
Dual Xeon, 8GB, 3xU320 disks, 2GB Nic, XP Pro/SP3

Thanks!

Thanks ... I did not see that on the top if the list.
Not as nice as the others, but faster and no screen paint delays.
While I would like it "beautiful", it is more important to be fast and stable.
THanks again.

Everything seems good except the link grabber. In JD 0.6 I can just paste in a mediafire folder and the link grabber can fetch all the file links inside. Now I can not do that, JD simply says 'file offline'. Is it a bug?
Edit: yes, wait for update

Feels much faster than the versions before.

Only thing on Mac OS X, sometimes the whole windows blanks to gray. If you move over buttons they apear. Switching to another tab ie. downloads shows everything normal again, switching back to the blanking tab ie. Linkgrabber makes 0.7 go blank again.

But still nice job guys!

Guys can you please stick with an interface.

I have had to adapt to 3 since i got jdownloader!!

I don't like having to go all the way done to the bottom right to click continue to add the url's i have pasted in the url capture.

Tbh the previous version i preferred and it was easier to use :(

I am thinking of moving elsewhere after so many changes do u guys even know that changing this much shows u guys don't know what you want or what u market wants!

Default Bingo!

You guys really hit the jackpot with this one.
It's fast (faster than any previous version that I used), it's good looking, it's reliable...I'm not having ANY trouble with it.
So guys, PLEASE dont experiment any more, update hosters, work on addons and let us enjoy.

A few labels are confusing.

"Continue": This gives no indication of of WHERE you're "continuing" to.
I had to click it, hoping nothing bad would happen, to find out that this actually transfers links from the Linkgrabber to the Download queue.

How about "Enqueue"? Or "Add to Downloads"? But just "Continue" is no information at all.

Alao, the word "hoster" is used frequently.
THIS IS NOT AN ENGLISH WORD. There is no need to coin such a word, the noun for a person, or website, providing hosting services is just "HOST" (for completeness: unless she's female, in which case it's "hostess"). I know this word has been used in JD for quite a while, but it's still poor usage and should be corrected.

Definitely 0.7.* version was worth waiting for.
For me the biggest problem was refreshing the browser and new interface is much more user friendly.

Thanks!

First of all, I'd like to thank to all developement team for JD. It is wonderful and let me enjoy my daily life with automatically downloading.

I used JD from 0.4.936. It is stable with slow GUI sometimes. anyway , it is awesome. Most of time, I use it to download files through Megaupload with high speed.

But after I upgraded to 0.7X, some files from megaupload meet the same terrible problem, that is, the file size was changed between checking and during downloading. The downloaded file size will be wired. sometimes, the size will go up to more than 10 times (ex. 40Mb to 700Mb). I tried to download it by firefox 3.5, it is correct.

I wonder whether the web master of megaupload change some inside or some bugs from JD. But the downloading from Badongo or rapidshare are all corret.

except the above, 0.7x is very good. It directly support recognition of Badongo, even sometimes, it failed.

anyone meet the same situation like me?

thanks

0.7 is good, working very good at the moment.

The unique bad things that i found at the moment is that the gui load little slow and when i start the program it not appears as the selected program, it is sent to background... o_0^

So definetly good, but can be better

Anyways thanks to all developers and contributers for this very good tool

List of Bug. ESPANISH

Default JDownloader 0.7

It is definitely very good, it works fine for me with many hosters as a free user without consuming significant amount of cpu.
Many thanks to jd team, keep up the good work guys and please don't forget to update plugins regularly.
