Something kills the update.
Try the following. Close JDownloader and delete the file Core.jar and the folders 'tmp' and 'update' and start JDownloader again.
In case it still does not work, please make sure your firewall/av have JDownloader excluded.
For example recently many similiar reports with avast av causing the issue

Thanks for that. All working now. It was Avast Av - they have added a new Behaviour Shield module - Jdownloader needs to be added to the exceptions in that module and then everything is fine

1. Click on Settings (Screenshot1)

2. Click on Components (Screenshot2)

3. Click on Customize next to Behaviour Shield (Screenshot3)

4. Click on Exclusions (Screenshot4)

5. Enter or Browse for location of Jdownloader folder then click OK (Screenshot5)

6. Click OK again on next screen and you should be back at the interface (Screenshot1)

Done

Thank you very much! I will create a wiki entry for it when I find some time!
