How about "Enqueue"? Or "Add to Downloads"? But just "Continue" is no information at all.

Alao, the word "hoster" is used frequently.
THIS IS NOT AN ENGLISH WORD. There is no need to coin such a word, the noun for a person, or website, providing hosting services is just "HOST" (for completeness: unless she's female, in which case it's "hostess"). I know this word has been used in JD for quite a while, but it's still poor usage and should be corrected.

I agree.

Continue has no meaning.

I've probably used that word host** as well, but I've always felt that it was wrong.

Thanks for your time posting this. If there would be more people like you, the lives of the poor developers would be a lot more pleasant.

Default JDownloader is exceptional

I use it a lot with several different hosts and have minimal problems. Every time there is a major overhaul, problems occur, but they are quickly fixed. I have recommended this program to a number of people.

Most people would prefer a light version with less hosts + addons...

Please provide a light version of Jdownloader which consumes less =)

(I am very happy with the current JDownloader just want a lighter version)

you can disable addons you dont need
plugins are only loaded when used
as you can read in other threads the memory consumption of jd depends very heavy of the used system (os, java vesion, 32/64bit, how much memory) , less ram available, jd uses less...more =jd uses more heap. java will free memory if os needs it again, else there is no reason why java should not use available memory.

Seems to me 0.7 is a ghost that keeps haunting the developers. We shall first drag it from limbo to real world then chop off its limbs like what happened Freddy Kruger (or was it Jason)

P.S: In the end I don't consider JD as x version, the important thing is the mind behind it and it's very good.

the last 7.x minor update was the best! java cpu usage never went above 20 & ram usage was comparable to the latest 9.x

From the first time i used JD, the actual 0.9.579 as greatly improved.

There is, of course, an issue with memory usage, but i think the Dev should focus on other language instead of try to lower memory usage.
Java is not such good language like C++ (for example), and got even major vulnerability in Win32/64 system.

Anyway, my opinion is generally positive, also this is a very usefull software, so keep up the good work and thank you!

The people who are developing jD prefer Java. If you are such a C++ fan, why don't you re-code jD in C++? It should run on all major platforms. Good luck with the manual memory management!

Why not code jD in assembly language? It would have been faster as well.

I'm running Azureus for years. I never had any memory related problems with this java app. It all depends on the programmers' experience and skill.

The 64 bits version of the JRE for W7 has memory leaks.

Note that Java's garbage collection won't happen if you've enough RAM memory. I've an extremely small RAM memory on this PC and jD currently uses 25 MB.

Why i should steal other people program? I dont understand your point...

Because C++ is more advanced, and allow you to make better program in lesser time
But i'm quite sure you're ironic now, isn't it?

My post was just a feedback; i'm happy with the program but there are thing that can go better, that's all.

@Balas
Every language has it's advantages and disadvantages but sure you're allowed to re code jd in c++ because it's open source.
No one would complain about it unless you would make money with it^^
