Default Flashgot repeatedly launches the download

with the latest build Mar 01 19:25,
and I got the window "The file ... already exists. What do you want to do ?"

This happens when JD2 already runs and when doesn't run and Flashgot starts it.
There is no such problem with the Feb 25 build. (Flashgot is the same version, the latest 1.5.4.2)
I tried to increase flashgot.dmsopts.JDownloader.delay from 60 to 120, but the only difference that flashgot more rarely launches the download.

From flashgot.log I see, that the old build responds 200, the new responds 0, probably that's why Flashgot launches the download repeatedly.

Please tell us exactly how to reproduce this.

For me always this happens now, if I click to "Flashgot Link" in Firefox on a link.

This is also happening to me. Everytime flashgot sends a link to jDownloader (JD2), it will try, at least, 3 times to communicate with the program, resulting in this "File Exists" messages.

I already tried to remove both jDownloader and flashgot (clearing also the about:options in firefox) and also disable the kaspersky firewall, but with no success.

PS: Btw after all the tried FG pops up this message: "JDownloader not responding on **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**!. Please check your firewall settings."

Because Jd send back 0 instead of 200, Flashgot re-send the dl req after the delay expired, I think. I have to close Firefox, wait some time, and restart - Flashgot forgets about the download, as i see.

I use flashgot to grab JDownloader links. What happens is if I grab a link it works but if I delete it it appears again, delete it it appears again. This continues until flashgot comes up with a firewall error even though there is no firewall.

I have no problem using jdownloader and firefox without flashgot I just copy the link and jdownloader grabs it and for those links behind text just use an addon like copy links to grab those links in anchors and jdownloader will grab those as well.

Answer from Jiaz:
"The connection is instant closed by flashgot! JD works fine. IT responds correct but has no chance to do so as the connection is closed directly after the request is send. Maybe bug in flashgot or flashgot+firefox combination"
->NO JD bug!

Thanks psp.

I don't understand how this is possible, because the same Firefox (19.0) and Flashgot (1.5.4.2) work my previous (freezed) JD2 in my spare folder. I waited 10 minutes, and there was no re-launch of the download.
This old version is "Build date: Mon Feb 25 15:17:06 cet 2013" (UpdateSettings.autoupdatecheckenabled is disabled).
Perhaps inadvertently so far it worked?

@jiaz

Please help, you probably can find or propose a solution - it's not urgent, but using JD2 with Flasgot to immediate start downloads from Firefox is very important.

Did you already contact the Flashgot developers?

OK, "genome_boy" already posted this

this is the last post for now:

Does this happen also in a clean profile with just FlashGot installed?
Which JD version are you using?

Hello. Yup, I tried to clean install both JD and FG (even cleared the about:options on Firefox regarding FG) but the problem persisted. I'm currently using jDownloader 2.
In the JD forums atleast a couple more guys had the same problem.

A bug that's not a bug, interesting. Guess I'll just copy across a couple of months old version of JD and use that. Making sure I don't update it of course.

==================================================================================

Just loaded the older version and surprise surprise the bug that's not a bug has disappeared.

Just to be clear as in my original post this no longer happens "I use flashgot to grab JDownloader links. What happens is if I grab a link it works but if I delete it it appears again, delete it it appears again. This continues until flashgot comes up with a firewall error even though there is no firewall."

To state the obvious if the bug isn't in JD then why does it disappear when I use an older JD version?

Please see on FlashGot Support the following topic:
hxxp://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13133

As it can be seen, Flashgot and JDownloder work well in 0.9.582, Feb 25 JD2 build, but doesn't work with JD2 Mar 05 Build.
I tried with Firefox 19, 15 and 21 (Aurora) , FG 1.5.4.2.

Testing with **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** in FF url bar (flashgot not involved), in all three JD version we got the "external appl. tries to connect" dialog. Allow and Deny in the JD2 version results in FF "The connection was reset" error, in JD 0.9.581 results in FF the displaying of the JDownloader's path, and the command line.

Just to add that I am seeing this too with a similar configuration (Firefox / JD2 / Flashgot - all latest versions)

In my case it tries 6 times with the last try giving a pop-up message:

"JDownloader not responding on http ://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot!
Please check your firewall settings."

(Space added in the URL to stop blocking message)

I tried disabling the firewall completely but it made no difference.

That's good to hear though I still don't understand how it was initially thought that the problem didn't exist.

Well, thanks for the solution.

Out of curiosity, what was the source of the problem?

Default Problem with JD2 & Flashgot

About a week ago I started having the a problem where every time I'd use Flashgot to add links to JD2, it would open the original JD. I tinkered with Flashgot a bit and even though I'm not having that problem anymore, now what it's doing is that it will add the same link several times, and Firefox will eventually flash and say: "JDownloader not responding on **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**! Please check your firewall settings." I'm not sure if this is a problem with FG or JD2, but does anyone know how to fix it?

Well then, my apologies for my comment

From what I understood the problem is already known and is to be corrected in a future update of JD

While we're waiting for the fix, if you haven't already worked it out the quick way around it is to select 'Enable clipboard observer' in JD2 and use 'Copy' instead of 'Jdownloader' when right-clicking on a link.

@solrage: I too have had the problem of it also firing up JD1 from time to time. In the end I simply renamed the original JD folder and that stopped it.

thanks for the tips, Simon. That "copy" temp fix does work. I'll have to try renaming the JD1 folder.

JD's very tedious to use at the moment so I no longer bother.

It's less hassle just to use a hosters web page.

Maybe it will be fixed eventually but I can't say I care right now.

I hope they work fiercely, and/but as I see they make now only plugin and little updates - but I do not know, we do not really get informed.
Even this thread is marked as "Declined", it was 9 days before, that "Resolution changed from Wont Fix to Fixed" by jiaz, saying "fixed, will work again soon".
I think that "soon" has already passed.

Just tried it.

Wonder why it took so long?

Made sure all the updating is turned off and I won't be updating this anymore unless something stops working.
