Default Tray Icon

The appearance of the Notification Area/System Tray icon has changed since a recent update.

Previously, it had been the JD globe, whereas now it additionally features a tiny white square and rectangle at the bottom right of the globe.

Is there any way to change this, and revert to the look of the original icon, please?

Thanks.

Code:
GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings.clipboarddisabledwarningflashenabled

@mgpai:Thanks for the link!

@Super_JD: I added this new feature to inform about disabled clipboard monitoring. You can either disable the flashing of the button (will disable new icon) or if you want to keep the flashing but not the new icon, I can add new setting for new icon

This has been an enormous help. Thanks, mgpai. Making this change, in Advanced Settings, accomplishes exactly what I was seeking.

Thanks also to Jiaz. Pending further feedback, you'll know best how to provide the most useful options around the icon change, in a future core update.

While the above advanced setting is not an intuitive one, what matters is that it is possible to customize it on the user-end, and that the information on how to do so is to be found here, in the forums.

Thanks again to both of you. I really appreciate it.

For anyone who may be seeking out how and where to toggle between the look of the two icons, since the last update this can now be done in (at least) the following two places:

1. Settings > Tray Icon > Tray Icon indicates disabled clipboard monitoring

2. Advanced Settings > (search for) Tray: Tray Icon Clipboard Indicator

These options take effect immediately.

A third option, below, is no longer applicable, as per the post immediately below by Jiaz.

This option had been:

Advanced Settings > (search for) GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings.clipboarddisabledwarningflashenabled

Thanks, Jiaz, for making this happen!

@SuperJD: I removed the 3rd option via clipboarddisabledwarningflashenabled, that option should not longer change the tray icon behaviour

In case you need other states as well (icon place is limited though) I can also add other indicators to it

@Jiaz: Thanks for the update. I've edited my previous post to reflect this.

That said, that Advanced Setting (clipboarddisabledwarningflashenabled) is still searchable and shows a checkbox, though it would appear, from what you wrote, that checking/unchecking this does not actually change anything.

As far as I'm concerned, even just one of the available locations (Settings > Tray Icon > Tray Icon indicates disabled clipboard monitoring) is perfectly placed and intuitive. I think that if anyone were to look to make a change with regard to the icon's look, then this location is logical and easy-to-find, given that "Tray Icon" has a dedicated entry in the Settings side panel. That was the first place where I had looked before you made the option that is located there as of now.

Thanks again!

clipboarddisabledwarningflashenabled -> that is about the clipboard monitoring icon in main toolbar, the checkbox is flashing when disabled so ppl can easier see when they disabled by accident and wonder why clipboard no longer works
Most of the settings are available via Advanced Settings, so one place for ALL of them GUI Settings are just *easier* to find

On my end, unchecking that setting did actually serve to also restore the original look of the icon prior to the most recent update. It may no longer do so, as I haven't had need to test it, but it did do that previously. It's how I changed the look of the icon before you added the new settings.

Yes, Unchecking the checkbox did work before I added the new setting but no longer should work.
