"Selecting "Merge/Move Files" Overrides the Destination Folder
This one deserves the JDownloader's Major Grievance of the year.
Why is it that when you move or merge files in the "LinkGrabber" Tab, the original destination folders to which these files are saved are overridden? Earlier, I saved File 1 to Folder 1, File 2 to Folder 2...File 10 to Folder 10. When I later chose the MOVE option (I wanted to move all 10 files into a single folder), they were moved to Folder 1. In short, I took pains to sort and categorize these files into different folders. Now they are stashed into Folder 1. What a waste of time! Please look into this. Thanks. |

This isn't an error other than user error! You have clearly found your own mistake >:]
This is how the package system works, it's used for grouping of downloads. Just leave them in the original packages after you have renamed and/or changed save paths.

Isn't the MOVE option used to group the packages? If so, why couldn't the file path of those packages be preserved when moved?

Like I said its not possible. Queued files take on the package save path as a grouping. Do not merge/move them if your wanting to preserve paths.

The folder where jD saves a file is determined by the default download folder. You can override this by choosing a download folder at the level of a package. You can't set the download folder for a single file. When you merge packages jD takes the download folder of the package your other packages are merged into. |

the folder information is saved within the package!
merging 10 packages to 1 = only 1 destination folder will remain.
