Hello Barbara,

Download
installer.jdownloader.org/JDownloader.jar in Browser and place it in your JDownloader Folder.
Then delete Core.jar and start again, then it will run fine.

Please zip your logs folder and send it via email to support@jdownloader.org to help us find cause of this

Sorry but that did not work, because when I closed my laptop down and tried to re-open JD, I received the same error message as shown in my SShot in my post 1

So I completely removed JD & downloaded it again, now Im nervous to close down my laptop, in case it doesnt start up again.

I have the latest Secure JAVA installed.

+ I do not understand what Core.jar is nor do I know how to "zip my logs folder ", and what logs you refer to are and where to find them to help you solve the problem, could you please explain all that in simplistic terms

Thanks for your patience & apologies for delay in replying, I am very ill.

As I explained in a previous thread, I had a bad accident and fractured my skull resulting in a Hematoma and loss of memory for a year. The long term memory returned somewhat, but Ive lost all my previous tech knowledge and cannot relearn it as the short term memory is damaged forever

+ I dont understand why this thread is marked 'SOLVED', when the problem is not solved

Many thanks for your help

I downloaded that installer exactly as per your link, but when I tried to open it I received a message 'Unable to access jarfile JDownloader.jar"

*Please read more info from the edit in my previous post

I suggest to do a teamviewer session. Either you make something wrong or something wrong with your setup. "unable to access" sounds more like permission issue
