Default Unique Id for packages

a int type unique package_id could be used to identify packages uniquely
instead of package-name
would make things faster and solve the ambiguous package-name problem
while carrying out remote-control commands

...a int variable can be used to store the recent id and incrementing the value
for each new package created

....just a suggestion

In the same context: will files also get IDs? That will allow access to separate files on different hosters. Also, will there be a way to aquire the id from the add/grab requests? Otherwise there is still a hole in how to uniquely identify stuff that's being added via RemoteControl.

Secondary question: in the ticket Jiaz says 'note: remotecontrol will get removed with next update'. Now that is worrying... What will it be replaced with? I'm really not looking forward to having to go back to messing with the HTML frontend... :(

Thanks!

JD will have a new remote API then.
I'll ask Jiaz to post here and answer your question
