Lightbulb I made an app to add tags to SoundCloud downloads

Hello everyone. I love using JD2 to download music from SoundCloud but it was annoying to add tags to each song. So I made a program to add some tags and album art to downloaded songs. These tags aren't going to be accurate but it works for me. You just have to set JD2 to download album art, download the songs to a folder, and run the app on that folder.

You can get the program and source on my github (patrickHD) Link:

I made the app in a few hours to see if it could be done easily. If you have issues feel free to make an issue on the github page but it may not be fixed. It'd be really cool if something like this was added to JD2 itself.

We already have an open ticket for this

Good to hear that it wasn't that complex to do it
I will try to achieve this via ffmpeg meta tag support

Any plans to finalize the dev work on Metadata to MP3?

No idea how you define "plans" but I can tell you that this feature has no priority.

I'd recommend you to either use external tools or EventScripter scripts as a workaround or start working on this yourself --> We are open source and any help is welcome

Default artwork isn't saved together with mp3 from soundcloud

Hi guys, how can an mp3 be saved along with its picture (cover picture) from soundcloud? it saves the artwork as a separate image file,. I want 1mp3 file with the picture (artwork/cover) embedded (mp3tag) in the file?
is it possible to do? do I need a script for that?
it doesn't make sense to attach each artwork to each song one by one with another software as i have 1000 songs....
thank you in advance : )

Hi,
at this moment this is not possible out of the box.
You can do it using an EventScripter script and FFmpeg:
Wait until the audio & image-file is downloaded, then merge both.
We also have a ticket for this feature-request:
