Default Twitch video only giving audio as download option

I've been grabbing a series from this guy on twitch, this video for some reason is only giving me audio files to download, .mpa format?

The video seems to work fine on twitch.

It is because the video part starts very very late and ffmpeg doesn't handle the video part because it doesn't exist in the beginning. I will check and look for a workaround/solution

It does? It's showing the games title screen at the beginning of the video for me, at least right now anyway.

Oh weird, I'm using a way older version of firefox so, alright well I'll leave you to it, I hope you can find a solution, this guy doesn't stream much so his videos only last 2 weeks.

Just in case you don't find anything, I know twitch streams are made up of 5 seconds chunks of video or something? That ffmpeg puts together into the mp4, as a last resort is there a way to just download the raw parts?

Since FFmpeg is the issue here I figure there might be a way to do that? Then it can be assembled after somehow.

JDownloader does exactly that, but ffmpeg needs to know that those chunks contains video. And that is what is happening, ffmpeg doesn't realize that there is a video stream and that's why it is only processing the audio stream.

found a solution but it comes with the disadvantage that the first 2-10 seconds of audio/video are lost but I guess that is manageable

Oh nice, I'll test it with the video later, thanks very much. I'm sure I can deal with seconds of loss over losing the entire video. ^_^

Edit : Yup, it's recognising it as video now.
