I did some changes on this. Please update, test and give feedback.
Please note: To test changes on the update system, you actually need 2 updates ;-P The first will install the changes, the second will test them. To force an update, please open update\versioninfo\JD\rev in your text editor and decrease the version number.

Also ich habe auch wieder das Update generfe egal was ich da einstelle.
Man sieht auch an der Firewall das JDownloader das Update suchen einfach nicht sein lässt. |

A few days onwards from coalado's changes it seems everything is - for the time being - working as intended by my settings. Update dialogs now emerge on start of JD and no other dialogs/prompts intrude otherwise. As mentioned in the above post in German, on my side the update icon in the toolbar likewise blinks when applicable. I am hopeful that this behaviour lasts and that others likewise experience improved results. (I see that Koto99 has had the problem return.) For now, thanks, coalado, for the changes you've made to improve things. |

I'm adding to my most recent post to inform that, as of now, JD is, as before, running the updater and its related dialogs on startup, but it is also prompting with the following dialog:
Subsequent restarts have the same result. It seems, then, that JD is running the updater on every restart and requiring me to interact with the dialog. I would really much prefer not to have to interface with this and to not have to close the JDownloader Updater dialog every time, please. Again, many thanks for your ongoing efforts. |

Everything has now been working as customised in my update settings. All unwanted dialogs and prompts no longer emerge. I'm hopeful that this will remain as such.
I'd like to thank you and your team for all of your efforts, including your prompt replies in this forum. You have created, and continue to build, an impressive product. |

This clearly still isn't solved. If anything, this matter is now regressing backwards in time. The recent improvements and the many posts herein have brought us back to where we started: dialogs, prompts, restarts, and focus-stealing click-seekers are all out again in full attention-grabbing force. Perhaps I've underestimated the difficulty of solving this problem.

The fix is live since yesterday. All versions equal or higher than
should be fine.

thanks, but as I understand settings in jd gui apply to gui settings not webui. Wait for coalado or jiaz to respond accordingly.

The latest quirk related to updates:
On start of JD, the familiar update dialog launches, which in turn eventually launches another dialog which informs: "You already have the latest version". This dialog then has to be closed manually. I don't imagine that this behaviour is intended; certainly I'd prefer not to have to interact with this dialog every time I launch JD. The above behaviour has been ongoing for the last two days. Thanks. |

Can you please provide screenshots?
There should be no dialogs at all at startup about updates!

The update dialog emerged on start of JD yesterday and on the first start of JD today. The dialog did not occur on re-start or on exit + restart. Perhaps the dialog(s) run only once daily? I will follow up with screenshots if/when the dialog(s) run on startup of JD tomorrow; likewise if this happens on any start of JD. Quote:
Perhaps the following is of help: I recall having seen the "You already have the current version" dialog previously, and that I likewise had to click to close it. It did not occur on back-to-back days, or repeatedly, and so it did not strike me as a significant enough bother. |

Do you close JD normally or use shutdown of Windows? and let it kill JD?
Waiting for the dialogs, thanks for the feedback

this needs this feature:
When one clicks the stop button -- put this option in: would you like to quit after the running downloads have finished? if you stop now then your will lose x amount of data that is not able to be gotten. the the appropriate buttons. because if you stop it all you got to pick from is lose the data or keep it running -- put a function or procedure in there to make it so that when it is down with the current downloading of files then it will shut down that way no data loss at all |
