This is not likely a jdownloader problem. Check for problems with free disk space, harddrive errors, standby/hibernation settings etc.

Disable the download and then re-enable. Failing that, Reset the download. Failing that, Remove and re-add the download. Good Luck.

I am also getting the same error message sometimes. I have a rapidshare pro account and plenty of space on the hard drive.

Here is my error log: http://jdownloader.org/pastebin/5513...b0ffeac130dca8

Please try to reduce chunks per file number to 2, reset download and try again.

Mediafire can cause many various errors, because MF fights with JD.

I've noticed that I get the "No permissions to write to harddisk" error whenever I reduce the download speed from the GUI. I usually have to go back and re-enable the downloads and hope they resume.

Most of the time I'm downloading from rapidshare.com, but could test with others if it helped.

please set max connections to 1-2 and max downloads to 2-3 (thats okay for 16-32mbit connections)
note if you have more connections/downlaods and using premium and try to limit speed, its just normal that they will break! simple math
having 10x10 connections =100
speed limit 200kb/s means 2kb/s per connection, that will FAIL!!

dont forget to reset the problem files with rightclick if you change max connections

i'm downloading from megaupload with a non-premium account so i have jdownloader set to 1 and 1 for chunks and connections and no speed limit. i've reset the files many times. i'm on vista and using an adsl connection. i can download at maximum bandwidth from MU (i've done so many times) with other download managers. i even tried deleting the files and reloading the dlc container. is there anything else i should try? thank you.

i also have more than enough free space on the hard disk, and nothing else should be using bandwidth (only msn and avg 9.0 are open).

Cool

You get "No permissions to write to hard disk". Please, read http://board.jdownloader.org/showpos...6&postcount=38

Reducing your number of connections (chunks) will usually suffice.

- use less chunks (set Max.Con. to 1 or 2)
- allow java.exe, javaw.exe and jDownloader in your firewall
- unstable internet connection, contact you ISP
- reboot PC
- un-install/re-install firewall
- un-install/re-install virus scanner
- torrent client using too many connections
- un-install JRE (java) and re-install latest JRE version

max connections and downloads have always been 1 and 1, since i download with non-premium account from megaupload
java.exe and javaw.exe are allowed, unless jdownloader.exe isn't enough, so is jdownloader
i'm using adsl which i assume is stable, is there a way to check?
rebooted many times
windows firewall, which i'm guessing is the problem since when i turn it off i can download just fine
torrent client? if this means bittorrent, i don't have anything else downloading
jre is latest version

Your problem is definitely caused by your firewall. Are you sure java.exe and javaw.exe are allowed or on the exclude list?

try to deinstall firewall/antivirus , reboot computer and check again. that way you can be 100% sure if its caused by them or not....

Read all through this post:
problem still exists with JDownloader not being able to write to disk.
Doesn't matter from which download site (RS, Uploading, both premium accounts) or hotfile etc.
This can't but be a JDownloader glitch.
Never EVER have problems with using the RS download manager, or downloading the files separately.
it's a nuissance that should be taken care of, definitely.
It's no fun to reset a couple of 200 mb files at about 80% down....

Default Getting no permission error, no firewall, no antivirus

Hi folks,
I am getting the no permission to write error, I have no anti-virus installed (it slows my computer down too much and I don't even need it anyway) and the only firewall running is Windows 7's firewall.

I leave overnight about 45 download parts of 200MB each, come back to find like 2 parts broken, and cannot resume them, must Reset them. This only started happening like a week or 2 ago, probably after some JD module update?

I have disabled the windows firewall for now, but I doubt its the reason, since it was on before and I would never get this.

I got this message on about 90% downloading a file from MU. Tried with resume and force download, no luck. But, instead of resetting the file, I decided to let it stay there for a while. When i checked 10 minutes later I saw that file continued to download from where it was interrupted.
Maybe it's just a question of giving it enough time.
For me it mostly happens if I try to burn a disk simultaneously with downloading (not this time, though - jd was the only running app).

I solved my problem by doing this; Go to File>Restore JD.
I don't know but it seems ok for now. Before backup your download list

I have just downloaded and begun using jd (just had to as those are my initials) after using Speed Download for quite some time but running into problems connecting to uploading.com

I am using a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard and regularly getting "No permissions to write to hard disk". Nearly all of the time it is within 1Mb of completion according to the Progress bar.

I am using 1 max connection and 5 max downloads. It occurs with downloads from rs, hotfile and uploading. I have premium accounts with each.

I have never needed to abort and reset. Using Enable then Resume then Force download usually get it going to completion - but very slowly (typically 2-5 KB/s. Once I had to restart the app to get a download going again - it insisted it was Connecting but went nowhere.

I don't have never had any other issues with the computer and have never seen this error with Speed Download.

Hope this may help with diagnosis.

Otherwise I really like the app - my thanks to the developers....!

Default Please help me !!!

Hello im having the same problem too, i´m using the latest version of JDownloader for about a week now, today the program just went crazy.

The downloads show "connecting" and takes a long time to start, and when it does they are very slow, this is with Rapidshare files.

With Megaupload files its the same as above but many parts of the files stop downloading with messages like "Iddle no permissions to write to hard disk" or "Aborted no permissions to write to hard disk".

Then all of a sudden they start again with good speed but just for some minutes.

Information:

Various files on queue (MegaUpload and Rapidshare)
Max.Con. - 2 Max. Dls. - 2 Speed - 0
Firewall - Outpost Free
Anti-Virus - Avg Free 9
Sometimes i have eMule turned on too and sometimes i don´t

I know that a lot of people say that this could be a firewall and/or anti-virus problem, but i don´t think so, i am using JDownloader for about 1 week and only today the program start with this problem, besides and don´t have the Link Scanner feature of AVG installed.

And i also tried all these solutions:
- use less chunks (set Max.Con. to 1 or 2)
- allow java.exe, javaw.exe and jDownloader in your firewall
- unstable internet connection, contact you ISP
- reboot PC
- un-install/re-install firewall
- un-install/re-install virus scanner
- torrent client using too many connections
- un-install JRE (java) and re-install latest JRE version.

Please help me, thanks in advance.
Sorry about some probably spelling errors, im from Portugal

1.) dont double post
2.) im very sure its caused by avg, as other users report same speed problems! try to remove it and reboot and test again

But i´m using JDownloader for about a week now and just tiday the problems started.

Is there any way to deactivate AVG without uninstalling ? I don´t want to change the anti-virus.

What's your JRE (java) and jD version? Are you ising any security software (virus, firewall)?

You're sure the accounts are correct? You can remove and create them again to be sure they're properly configured.

If that doesn't help, please provide a detailed log. It might help the devs to find the problem.

Look here for logging instructions.

Default permissions errors

Java VM is 13.1.0
JD version is 0.8.821
The Log Level was set to ALL but the logfile is empty....

Today, downloading is smooth with no permissions errors. Don't know what changed. Did not reboot.
Only 1 error - Plugin Error(out of date). Resume and Force Download got it going again.

Love this app..!

Please, note that it's more difficult to provide help with older versions of jD.

Allow java.exe and javaw.exe in your firewall and virus software. Disable the html/web scanner in your virus software.
