Unable to show Korean and Thailand characters
Hello,
I have used jdownloader2 many years now, it's great for what I need. Recently I changed my pc, and so have to install and configure jdownloader2. I tried changing the font name to both "Dialog" and "Arial Unicode MS", I'm able to get chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese character to show, but not Thailand and Korean. I do not have this issue in my old pc which is using windows 10, if that matters? My new pc is using windows 11. THanks. |

Do you see square brackets instead?
Strange, "Arial Unicode MS" should do the trick. Have you tried "Yu Gothic UI " yet? As described in this article.

I just tried Yu Gothic, and this time, it shows square brackets with X inside, and it breaks some of the characters (shows square brackets with X) of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese. So for now I reverted to "Arial Unicode MS" Thanks |

Yap but the JD GUI should have told the user to do the restart too.
If it was under Linux my guess would have been this but under Windows hm... Maybe he has missing/broken fonts similar to that Synology Linux users do not have any installed fonts at all. In this case, doing the following could help though it's only a wild guess: woshub.com/how-to-restore-default-fonts-in-windows-8-1/

Edit : I'm not sure if I'm posting the images right? Perhaps only mods can view it?
Yes, I restarted the Jdownloader 2 after changes were made every time. This is when using Arial Unicode MS This is when using Yu Gothic UI And this is my Windows Fonts folder Thanks |

@altrius
Yes only mods can view attachments/links. I got 185 fonts in my folder but I guess that doesn't mean anything. Have you tried the instructions in that article I've linked?

However, I believe you were right and it has something to do with missing fonts, so what I did was, installing the korean keyboard using Windows Language settings, and I got korean words to show properly. You can then uninstall the korean language from the keyboard, and the fonts will still be available. I tried the same trick with Thai, but it still show square boxes, but I guess perhaps I don't really need Thai. Thanks for your help. |

Thanks for your feedback!
Can I mark this thread as solved or do you want to wait for answers leading to a possible solution for the thai words problem?
