i added exceptions in firewall and antivirus, the result was the same. when file reached 303.22MiB/303.50MiB, the speed was decreasing, till jd showed: "network problems, wait 5:00". i have downloaded from hotfile hundreds of files without a problem, just got problems with these two files. this time i tested: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** . log: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** (i have enabled logging level: all, don't know why jd doesn't show links...)

Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1.

Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the port 80/html/web scanner in your virus software.

If this doesn't help, un-install all that Windoze defence software and restart your computer. You don't need to be afraid for not having a software firewall when you've one in your router.

i disabled windows firewall and nod antivirus and the file came through, gonna investigate which caused the problems...

edit: it was port 80 in AV, which caused problems, so i removed it from scanning (these 2 files contained ISO images, i'm not sure if i downloaded archives containing iso images from hotfile before). are there potential risks of not scanning port 80?

There are no risks. If you would download a file with malware, a good virus program would check it before you open/execute it.

Cool

I'm currently downloading a HF link.

What about some example links and a complete and detailed log?

Probably hotfile is shaping download speeds from some IP Ranges or
your ISP is shaping speeds from hotfile servers at some periods of time.

I've noticed that: my speeds are very good early in the day when I'm downloading directly, then they rapidly drop late in the day, so I switch to proxy server and my speeds are ok again.

So drop of speed is not jD problem.

Every 'puter connected to the net has it's own address - IP -
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_address

So there are possible 2 reasons for slow speeds from hotfile :
a) hotfile is limiting download speeds for certain IPs which are registered to some countries or ISP (Internet Service Provider) or maybe for some IP ranges:
75.0.0.0 - 75.255.255.255 - so every IP started with 75 has slow speed
- the limit may be triggered at some period of day - early in the day the speeds are ok, they drop late in the day.

b) your ISP is limiting the speeds from certain hosters because of high bandwith usage from the servers - it also may differ on the period of day.

You may try to avoid that problem by connecting and downloading using proxy servers - then your real IP is masked, and you're connected to hotfile with IP of proxy server (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server) also ISP may be "fooled" and speed is not limited.

@ beybifeyz,

1) Please check your hotfile account in a browser.

2) Make sure you have entered the correct user name and password into JDownloader by trying to add a new account with the same information (JDownloader will silently ignore your attempt if the new information matches the old information).

3) If you are within 24 hours of your contract expiration, HF may not be giving JDownloader the correct information.

4) On the Premium/Accounts page, select the Hotfile.com line, right click, and select Refresh Accounts. If this does not fix the problem within 30 seconds, then use Refresh Accounts again (it can take several minutes for Hotfile to respond properly).

5) If none of this works, please send an email to support@jdownloader.org. Explain the problem and include your login information. Do not post login information to the forum.

I've had this same problem...all I did is started Mozilla, logged in to Hotfile, checked my status and closed Mozilla without logging out.
Worked.

I have a different problem now...I have a logfile...where do I upload that to you guys to analize?
After a few minutes JD goes idle and does nothing.
Also I have a bunch of timed out erroes...all in the log.
