Hotfile Plugin error (out of date)

getting this error with Premium account.

worked yesterday.

note// this only occurs if I use my socks proxy. If I don't use the proxy everything is fine. but that kinda defeats the purpose no?

A user reported that his hotfile downloads are getting interupted after some time .

OS: vista 32 bit
java version 6 update 21
No antivirus installed
Free user
other notes: he also said that this started to happen after the latest updates

Some things to check:

1) One of the most common reason for timeout problems is Max.Con. and Max.Dls. (bottom of the window) set too high. Max. Con. should normally be one. The user should try Max.Dls. = 1 for testing, and increase this number to use all of the bandwidth. See Optimizing the Number of Connections.

2) If the user just uninstalled the antivirus, important parts of the antivirus might still be installed. Most antivirus companies have a Cleanup tool to remove any parts that do not get uninstalled.
2a) An alternative is to check the LSPs and device drivers as described in "General Discussion -> Self Help Index -> Advanced System Cleaning". This discusses the program called "LSPfix" to check for extra routines inserted into the TCP/IP stack and checking for extra device drivers.

3) If the user has been downloading and using programs without scanning each program with an antivirus, then the system is probably corrupted. See Recommended Antivirus.
3a) PandaSoftware.com provides a (mostly) on-line antivirus scan that can be used in this case.

4) Make sure the user is not using a proxy. Sometimes these drop connections after a certain time.

hotfile only gives free users 1 chunck no matter how high the max connection setting is set in jdownloader. So I guess this is not the issue

He is using avast and yes this antivirus does have a cleanuptool so I have just told him to use it. The LSPfix is new to me but will tell him to use it too.

I doupt that hes using proxy but you never know > will look into this also.

To upload a log file, post a message describing the problem and listing the URLs you used. Then click on Go Advanced and Manage Attachments. Use Browse to select the file and Upload to actually upload it.

If the web site says the file is too big, then put the file in a RAR archive and upload that.

I am one of thousands who have problem downloading anything.
I have a premium HF account but in the middle of a download JD hangs and goes idle doing nothing.
My web browser download does the same thing.
No matter what site I am downloading from; the trouble is the same: unfinished download and "Socket error; read timed out" error messages.
I have checked the log: JD will try 5 times but no success.
Any unfinished chunk will be downloaded again but of course will never be finished.
I have recorded this on my camera and I can upload to the JD team....just need an email address in a PM.
I think the ISPs are pulling something new because in the middle of a download there is a "no connection" going on...an that repeats every 2 minutes.
So...if you guys need this I have it.

Are you sure that this proxy server is still working?

Set your web browser to connect through proxy and then check if you can still log to hotfile.

I noticed that dealing with captcha from hotfile changed, in the past when popup appear to enter captcha I can press cancel and prompted again to enter new captcha until I get easy to read and write one

but now when I press cancel the counter restart again and wait again from the beginning !! which is very annoying

also when I tried the link at the browser I did not prompted to enter any captcha !! is the site detect using JD ??!!

I can't download from hotfile.com too!
It goes through the 60 seconds countdown, then nothing happens for a few seconds and then the "Disconnect?" error appears with a 5 minutes countdown.
Some time ago I remember it asked for a captcha recognition after the 60 seconds countdown, now nothing.
If I download any link from the browser it starts without any captcha request and, most important, all files are available.

If you have extra files that you think will help solve a problem, just upload the files to one of the file sharing sites (with good descriptions). Then post a message containing the link(s) and a short explanation.

Staff will be able to read your links, but most normal users will not.

Hi all. First of all thank you for the time looking at this.

I have a hotfile premium account and yesterday I noticed every hotfile link I am following JD shows that link as DH directhttp.

Is this normal or maybe I have some problem here.

I just found a nice Greasemonkey Script for Firefox that works for Hotfile, only problem is that you'd have to mod it a bit so it reloads the page if it wants a captcha, else it works fine, if your file is ready you get asked where you wanna save it and since Firefox is epic :3 it saves it temporary already while asking, so you actually have to do nothing xD

just as alternative until JDL can fool HF so it stops to be anoying ^^
