I have Premium with Hotfile. Since yesterday JD on my mac running OSX 10.6.5 detected my Hotfile as an invalid account. Using a web browser to access my Premium account is ok with no problems though.
Why is this? Any thoughts?
Thanks a million!

Default Problem solving with Java 1.5

@ User0,

You are using Java 1.5. Some updates might not work for you. I think most quick fixes are only tested with Java 1.6.

To make sure your copy of JDownloader is up to date, open the terminal and change directory to the JDownloader directory. Update JDownloader with the following statement (this is the OS-X version):
Code:
java -jar jdupdate.jar -restore -branch RESET
Please read General Discussion -> Self Help Index -> Mac OS-X section -> Posting an Emergency Log from OS-X. Follow the instructions there to start JDownloader (saving the log to a file), run some test links, and exit JDownloader.

Add a message to this thread with your test links, the version number of your Hotfile.com plugin (from the Settings -> Plugins and Addons -> Hosts page in JDownloader), and attach an archive containing the jderr.txt, jdlog.txt, and any hs_err*.log files in your JDownloader directory.

I had the same problem until this morning. JDownloader now notices my premium hotfile account and sees the enddate of my account again (2011) instead of giving the error "Invalid account".

But when I want to download something, JDownloader now gives me a captcha instead of making use of my premium account. (everything was working great till a couple of days ago)
Hotfile version number: 13110
I uploaded the log file and got this link:
http://jdownloader.org/pastebin/21293
TIA

Well I have several problems with my hotfile downloads.
1. It doesn't accept my account details. Says Invalid account. Although works fine in Browser. Usual 2 restart doesn't work.
2. Every time I try to download it starts countdown from 5:00.
:@
somebody help me.

Well, a little before 11PM last night, I was working on my computer. JD was open in the background (but doing nothing), and I started seeing my Console window scroll madly. I checked to see what was going on and I saw some updating to jD. In particular I saw an update to the Hotflie hoster so after the scrolling stopped, I restarted jD.

Lo and behold, thanks. The update solved the HF problem for me. I retyped in my HF login credentials and they were accepted. I activated some HF links and they started downloading; speed looked maxxed out as usual.

I kept jD on all night and the d/l's went fine throughout the night; no crashes, no freezes, no hangs.

Thanks, jD team, for the quick bug find and fix. You guys are awesome.

Default Why hotfile seems to have no captcha in Firefox, but does in JD?

Ive often noticed when i download a file in firefox from hotfile, it counts down the 15-30 second timer, and *usually* doesnt ask for a captcha, i would say about 4/5 times it does not ask for captcha in Firefox.
But literally 5/5 times it will ask for captcha when going through Jdownloader (even with the same links). Why is this? Is JD accessing hotfile in another way than lets say firefox 3.6 does?
Maybe if Jdownloader tries to emulate the way Firefox loads a hotfile link, it could avoid captchas most of the time.... in other words hotfile links could be used for over-night downloading then.

Yes, it's possible that HF recognises jD. This has been discussed a few times on this board.

Merged hotfile threads.
...and to answer your question:
Yes, atm. hotfile is recognizing JD and always showing captchas, we can't change that at the moment!

PSPzocker, another thing i noticed is, when i get a captcha in Firefox, I just click enter (blank, so "wrong code"), and then click Download again... it counts down again 15 seconds, but this time, no captcha!

Also, why cant you guys just emulate the way firefox handles hotfile links? i mean, it must be using some pretty basic html downloading methods.... just make sure JD follows exactly the timing and waiting periods as a browser would. None of the count-down shortcuts and whatever else is cut during JD's method. Make sure it behaves just like firefox, even broadcast the "firefox" browser signature as if JD was firefox (only for hotfile links).

Is it really so hard to do? But I wonder, how many of the *actual* guys who coded Jdownlaoder originally are still around on these boards? I have a feeling none, or very few, or else they would be able to get back into the core of the program and change these types of things. it seems to me only some of these "helpers" such as admins are around, but they cannot actually get much in the way of coding changes done to the program.. what do you guys do, submit tickets for things to be changed to the developers or what? sorry to seem like im nagging but ive just seen countless threads of problems on here now without any REAL coders/devs who were actually able to make changes about most of them...... most of them get written off as "we cant do this right now" etc etc. that seems to be the actual problem right there.

yes i'am and we are around and it's not that easy to find out. cause often they use other techniques to block jd (showing captcha). and finally they will result in blocking normal browser too (just like other hosters did, eg firefox always captcha, ie no captcha). we need to know how they recognize jd and then can change it, then they will change it again and so on and on

Hmm for me firefox seems to have almost always no captcha, they must recognize it in the browser's ident, like when you go to a website and it shows you which windows you are using, which browser, version, etc. Each browser broadcasts that info to a html/script if it asks for it, and I guess they know the ID or ident which Jdownloader shows when accessing the web. But you are right, if you guys make a work-around, they will find out and block it. Very sad of them assholes to spend their time actually finding out such stuff about jdownloader and blocking etc, all to try and solicit a few more free users to switching over to paid accounts. Shameful really. But I dont plan to switch over, I will use free sites as long as they exist and are decent, still megaupload is very good, netload and depositfiles, and a few others without recaptcha can be added for alternate links in download queues to keep things going at full speed.
Sadly megaupload is losing popularity now, I really hope its not gonna go the way of rapidshare.

the useragent is already random and the other headers are also same as real browser. only by some *do load xy tags* they can identify jd. will recheck once i have time.

@Cold0ne

You seem to know a lot about programming and hosts. If you know java, why don't you participate in jD's development? Please, read "First Developer Steps".

If you're having problems with a payment for HF, please contact them not jD. jD is not responsible for HF's bad contact/payment system.

Post here if your HF account is working in your browser, but not in jD.
