Danke!

Default Add a sound effect when manual typing of a Captcha is required

Okay, first off, I have to say thank you to the JDownloader development team. JDownloader is, without doubt, the most awesome downloader ever.

Well, on to my suggestion (I have checked the Roadmap and searched, but could not find anything. If it has already been suggested, I am sorry):

Suggestion: Add a "beep" sound when JDownloader needs you to type in a Captcha manually.
Reason: JDownloader is a pretty easy program, paste-and-go in most situations. However, there are cases when JDownloader needs the user's assistance to enter a Captcha code, because it can't do it itself. This forces you to keep an eye on your system, and makes it hard to do anything else (not pc-related). If it would be possible to play a "beep" sound when JDownloader needs you to fill in a Captcha, you could ignore your pc system while it is downloading something and do something else instead, as long as you are close enough to your system to hear the "beep" sound and respond within time to the Captcha requisted.

It should be reasonably easy to implement (yes, I know people always say that, but I know some basic AutoItScript and Java and I know, from experience, that it would only be a few extra lines of code) and would be a great help in case you need to do something else and can't give your computer constant attention.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Kind Regards,
TheLastProject

Cool

Please, read this thread from the start.

For Windoze the easiest solution is "Captcha Alert : a simple tool solution.".

Lightbulb Audio Signal when prompt occurs

Like many other Ppl I keep Jdownloader on all the time when I download something. Often, I'm "afk" but in the same room. Since it's annoying to keep track of the monitor all the time, I thought it would be a great idea to include an audio signal when a prompt (for a captcha or password etc) occurs.

Shouldn't be hard to include and would be a great addition.

@registerme

For captcha audio alerts there are several solutions :-

- "Captcha Sound Alert for JDownloader" : It contains several solutions for different platforms.

- For Windoze the easiest solution is "Captcha Alert : a simple tool solution.".

For other types of audio alerts, please wait and drink tea until

Default Noise to Signify Text Capture Required

I tend to sit and download things whilst doing something else, so I tend to miss the Text Capture, and have to wait ages again. Could I make JDownloader make some sort of noise when it requires a CAPTCHA field?

@stephane

Your thread has been moved here, because the word 'sound' appeared in it. This thread is about captcha sound alerts and doesn't entirely cover your request/question.

There has been a sound theme in jD but it has been removed. Don't speculate it'll ever make its comeback.

What might come back however is the Event Manager. See

If everything goes well (and if you'll still be alive) then you'll be able to trigger an audio alert for any event you consider important.

I know you want it. Did you read this thread?

For the voice alert, do you want a female or male voice?

Default Option to play sound when captcha pops up

What the title says. It shouldn't be enabled by default (as most people seek mute buttons) but it would be lovely to have for users like me who are often on and off the computer, yet in the room, and then frequently miss the captcha, which with some hosts causes me a great delay before I can try again.

I figured it could just be a checkbox in the very empty 'CAPTCHA Settings' (in 'Modules').
The hardest part is probably to create the audio clip, or find a shareware one.

I'll leave it to you awesome people to weigh the priority of this feature request.

Thanks in advance
