Default problem with NetBeans IDE 7.0.1 or Java SE Development Kit 7

I installed a bunch of programs in the last 2 days, and today JDownloader doesn't work any more

- Linkgrabber doesn't work, it stops when checking online availability (sometimes it says the file is online, but no file size)

- Downloads don't start

These are the programs I installed:

NetBeans IDE 7.0.1
Java 7
Java SE Development Kit 7
Mozilla Firefox 6.0
McAfee Security Center (some update)

I tried to uninstall Java 7 and go back to 6, but the problem remains. Could it be McAfee?

Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the html/web download scanner in your virus software.

process of elimination ftw. Their was a or multiple of java 1.7 builds that were bad, surprised if you only downloaded them yesterday that it would cause issues. hmm

Don't fight the system, use it to your advantage. :]
