Change Download-Link from parts of a dlc-package (resume from other source)
Hallo
sometimes it happened to me, that while I was downloading a package (several rar-zipped parts of one big multi-rar-file, generated from a dlc-file) with JD2 (Build date 6. Sep. 22) I had downloaded already several big parts and suddenly all the rest went offline (Status=file not found). Yesterday I already had 91% of a 1GB rar-file part (with 30 kbs download speed) and it went offline. Resume should be possible by the server, I guess, but the link is dead. I found the identical file part in another download package (same server, so resume should really be possible) but dont know how to directly change the link in my original package, there is no entry in context menu. I found old threads (from 2016) in this forum with that issue: https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=70325 and: https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=71275 but no solution yet. Is it possible without digging in the files and cache (?) of JD2? Maybe a plugin? At the moment I help me like this: I add the new package (with the same files but working downloads) to the same directory but only the missing ones. In the end, JD2 will unpack the whole rar-files (from first and second dlc-package). But the 91% finished file, I have to delete :( Is there a better way? Thank. frank Last edited by francwalter; 14.11.2022 at 22:26. |

I'm sorry but JD is unable to do this see this thread.
Here are your options:

Thank for the answer, even if it is disappointing, thought JD2 would be mightier.

JD does have a lot of advanced features but unfortunately this one is not yet available.
You can subscribe to the linked thread for updates on this topic.

Never mind, I will live with it, it is anyway not sure, if that resume would work at all. Often it says Server supports resume and after some break it is not resuming but downloading from scratch. So I will do it the simple way again, download the (working) dlc file again and only check the missing or incomplete files for download. Thank. |

Good luck.
I recommend creating a backup copy of the incomplete file before you're doing any resuming experiments with other pieces of software.

Could you tell me, where JD2 saves his temp files and the links? The JD2 directory is in: c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\JDownloader2\ but I dont find there any actual links and downloaded files, they must be in a separate path, but where? Thank advancedly:) EDIT: when I open a dlc-container, JD2 must save the contents somewhere, but where? I can delete the dlc file after loading it, so it cannot be in that dlc-file... Thank again!
I see, the much easier way is to just start a new download into the same folder (as I did since). I wonder how Tyler did his trick. Asked him in PM but no answer yet. Last edited by francwalter; 17.11.2022 at 21:37. |
