Are you talking to me or someone else in the thread?

EDIT:
Going to assume you're asking me?
I connect to some very very obscure and slow torrents, it can take HOURS to get them moving data reliably. I also log in to my home PC from work - so if it's changing IP frequently, it's going to be frustrating, even with a DynDNS solution.
As I mentioned in my post, I'd be happy with a figure of say 3 times per 24 hours or some kind of system where I can just say "at most every X hours" - I'd key in 8 hours and be done with it.

Thanks for asking, appreciate it.

In the original version of jd, using Google Chrome integration, adding a link would bring up a window something like "external program trying to add link, allow?", this window had a "don't show this again" tick box. V2 of jd does not seem to have this box, as a result the use of Chrome integration is three clicks per link added as opposed to one. Might it be possible to reintroduce the tick box please?

Also, the speed limit set by the tools button, bottom right in the UI, does not seem to "stick" through a stop / start downloads cycle. I'm not sure whether this is a design decision or a bug.

@Merlijnus
Which addon are you using?
This probably happens because the addon doesn't send the referer of the links correctly.

So please tell us how you mean this.
Was a setting lost after the update or did the GUI change in a way you don't like it to be?

Before the update, there was "Add to Download List" in the context menu in the Linkgrabber-window for individual files.
After the update, "Autostart Download" was checked in the quick-settings of the Linkgrabber-window, and "Add to Download List" was gone from the context menu.

I tried to edit the menu, but "Add to Download List" was gone, so I reported this as a bug.
Only after I read a message in another thread about unchecking "Autostart Download" bringing back "Add to Download List" I knew that it was an intentional change, as "Autostart Download" was not checked before the update.

Isn't there some sort of changelog with the most important changes which could be read before applying an update?

Thumbs up Feedback on the new version

I just came here to leave a little bit of feedback:

The last update (a few days ago) really felt to me like a big one! Lots of very nice features that looked like they were just added to the program (or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention before, but I don't think that was the case).

At first look, just like many other users (probably), I was sad to find out that way too many careful customized items and settings in the program were "lost" in the upgrade. I do understand that sometimes, in a major upgrade, there simply is no way to predict (or prevent) these things. That's just how it is, unfortunately...

After a little while I really didn't care about it, mostly because I was still able to re-construct all the changes and settings I had before, and now with an incredible "bonus":
- while I was doing it I discovered a multitude of new and very useful features in the new version of the program.

So, my message to other users like me is this: just calm down, the program is really getting better and better with time; I could probably write a list of "50 different reasons" why jD2 is so much better now that jD1 ever was, although anyone who has been using it in a daily basis knows that the program isn't "quite that perfect", at least not just yet (but it looks that we're getting there very fast).

We all have to remember a few things:

- First and foremost, the developers crew is quite small and most of us have no idea how many of those few people are dedicated full-time to the project (remember there's probably not much financial incentives for them).

- Knowing that first premise, and acknowledging that we make use of this program with very regular updates and full-time assistance - all of that for free - it is still remarkable what they do accomplish with all those limitations.

I love the new "priority" system for the filehosters, although I haven't yet discovered how to properly use it (giving priority to downloading as a free user for a few specific hosters, instead of using a multi-hoster like zevera, for example).

I also really loved the fact that most packages are now handling total size, mirror files, progress and ETA much, much better than before.

I a BIG fan of all the new customizing options that we were given, please keep them coming.

PS: It's a pity that you guys don't have the "manpower" to properly introduce all those very fast changes coming our way (doing a blog post for each new feature, for instance; or very small tutorials for people that are not yet that much familiarized with the new interface) - but still, that's quite understandable.

This is EXACTLY what i ask.

WHY IS DECLINED?
It is no practical to can sort the download order by filter like size, name e.t.c.?????

Or you simply CAN'T DO IT as you did at jd1?

And what is the new version of jd2 as i read from here?

Danke

Please check your version and make a log.

When updating JD, it has a message "Validing Installation".

Please correct this to "Validating installation".

I gave up pointing out that "hoster" is not a noun, but please don't try to make "valid" into a verb.

=> Danke!

It took a bit of getting used to but I have no problems with this JD2 so far. I like that you can change the file name before you download it (maybe this was possible in JD1 and I never noticed it) but it also gives me one thing to ask. Can the display font for file names be chosen. I notice when links are in Chinese/Japanese the file names are square boxes in the JD list (downloaded file displays okay). Is it possible to change the JD2 file name/package name font?
