Default Is there some way I can reload JD2 without losing my data?

I would like to re-load JD2 but not lose all the links currently in my Downloads & Linkgrabber tabs. What would be the best method/process to do this?

One of the reasons has been the recent issue with the Link Collector freezing but I think that there is a solution for that...

Thanks in advance!

Maybe you're having too many links in list and memory is too restricted. Please check about dialog of JDownloader. There you'll find 3 memory numbers. In case the 2nd is near the 3rd one, then you've reached memory limit and need to provide more memory to JDownloader. Open the .vmoptions files and remove all -Xmx and -Xms lines and add new one, like
-Xmx1g

all settings/accounts are stored within the cfg folder. you can backup/copy it and the do a clean install (if you want to and memory is not cause of the issue), then you simply restore/replace the new cfg folder with old one

Yes, have reached memory limit but can only find .vmoptions.backup_1 or _2 files. I have removed over 2000 Offline links and 1000 links from the LinkGrabber but I still get the memory issue. JD2 won't update any longer; have loads of issues with Captchas & certain file hosts so thought it might be better to re-install.

Rather than copy the cfg folder, I was going to copy over just the downloadList & linkcollector .backup & .zip files. Would that work?

Any other ideas before I go for the clean install option?

Of course you can just copy the downloadList/linkCollector but then all other settings/accounts will be lost and you'll need to setup those again.

What OS do you use? in case it's no *old* installation, you should find several .vmoptions file in your JDownloader folder.

What are the shown numbers for memory in about dialog?

OS is Win10 Pro 1803.17134.112 and I believe that I installed JD2 at the same time as upgrading to W10 (08/2015).

The Memory data is (160.94MB/247.50MB/247.50MB) After I had cleared out all the offline links & moved some of the links out of the LinkGrabber tab, I had got the numbers down to (160.94/197.50/247.50) but as soon as I added some links, it maxxed out.

Go to your JDownloader and open the .vmoptions file with notepad
now remove all lines with -Xmx and -Xms
and add new one with -Xmx1g
to allow up to 1 gig of memory
Your JDownloader is limited to 256mb of ram and that's causing the issues you encounter
