I've had Jdownloader 2 installed on my computer for several years and earlier iterations as well and never ever had a problem with it. Recently the software stopped opening rar files so in an effort to fix this, I uninstalled Jd2 and attempted to reinstall it.The software will not reinstall. I have tried everything I can think of to do this but nothing works. When I try to install Jd2 from jdownloader.org, I get a 7-zip access denied error. I did not have 7-zip installed on my computer but had WinRAR installed. I did install 7-zip in an effort to solve the problem but still got the 7-zip access denied error. I am also getting warnings from my Eset AV about Jd2 but I don't believe them to be true as your software worked fine on my computer with Eset until I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall. Hope there is a fix that I am capable of doing as I am only fairly competent when it comes to computers. Please help, I love your software!!

Hi,

your RAR/ZIP issues are definitely independant from JD.
Also, JD can extract archives even if your OS does not have any archive software installed so this is a separate issue which you need to solve separately.

Regarding your AV scanner warning and JD:
T´his might have happened because of the (optional) adware in our installer.
We also provide adware-free installers - try with those and see if the warning disappears:
