Default Two program instances?

Two program instances! It looks like a bug. Two processes. This is what happens if JD2 is very busy and the first process takes a long time to finish and you try to restart JD2 during this time. If just the download lists are large:
1,000,000 links (size 400 MB of CFG package).
Each package has an average of 600 - 700 links.

I think there should be a "lock" that prevents JD2 from starting until the process is fully end/terminated.
It may take a few minutes to complete END the process javaw.exe because I have large CFG packages (DownloadList).

Which launcher are you using?
Which firewall/AV scanner are you using?

While installing updates there can be two instances for a short time.
It sounds as if your JD doesn't have enough memory.

I set up Xmx11G
I think that's enough.
About Jownlaoder: Usage: 4.93 GB - Allocated: 8.59 GB - Max: 9.78 GB

Downloading files of several kilobytes (little size) uses up to 100% CPU

The RAM reduction can be reduced twice if I set: Remove finished download: when package is ready
Remove finished download: immediately (use high RAM) I/O issue

My Windows firewall/Bitdefender is turned off

Of course! the less entries the list has, the less memory it requires.

What do you expect? Of course it will result in high cpu/io when you have 1 mio links in list
and JDownloader has to write changed list to disk after each download!
Increase DownloadController.maximumsavedelay and DownloadController.minimumsavedelay to delay writing to disk even further. default value is min 5 secs after last change and max 60 secs after last change e.g. change them to 5 mins or higher.

Default JD2 sometimes run as two instances

What's going on?
Why does JD2 sometimes run as two instances (identical duplicates!)
I run the program normally (mouse double click) with the extension "*.jar"
Downloader.jar
