hi, i'm running jdownloader on ubuntu 9.10 and the tray icon comes with a white background which looks bad with any dark themes as shown below


can anything be done about this, i know it's not major it just bugs me every time i look at it.

sadly there's no proper solution to this. It's a Java bug.

but you can recolor the .png's background in gimp. The tray icon uses the 128 px jd logo

a more complex workaround would be:
writing a script that takes a screenshot, cuts out a small rectangle from it which shows a piece of your panel, and merges it with the logo png-file for every start of JD. (I'm almost sure that you can do that with imagemagic + bash scripting)

I have replaced the jd_logo_128_128.png original for this, after I have opened JDownloader but it still shows (in tray-icon) the old icon!!

Make sure you didn't only restart JD from JD menu. Just close JD and restart it manually. The java process should be killed or in other words: Make sure that Java isn't running anymore when you quit JD.

It's solved. The problem is the installation from .deb package, this installation doubles the folders: in /opt/ and in home folder!!
I think that this is very incorrect!
