JD Not Downloading
Hey,
Since the last update I'm having trouble with downloading. I have links in the download queue and when I press "Start download" it doesn't respond, and stops (like nothing is there). I tried this with many links from different websites and nothing works. The log: http://jdownloader.net:8081/pastebin/131405 BTW, can I install the JD2 without erasing the old one (want to try out)? Thanks Ofir |

Hi,
Yes, you can install JD2 and keep JD 0.9.581.

@OfirG
yes you can install JD2 without erasing old one. JD2 has a new default path, copy over your current config/ directory to new JD2 directory before first run. JD2 will convert everything it can over. re: 0.9 issue, I see exception thrown but shouldn't stop downloads from starting. A missing class which has been deleted and your JD is complaining about it. Not sure why considering that class hasn't been needed in many months. I would close JD and run jdupdate.jar see if it resolves issue, if it doesn't either delete hoster plugin directory and try jdupdate.jar again. Would it be possible to get your config/ directory compressed with rar/zip and emailed to support@jdownloader.org before you remove any links. raztoki We release another small stable update to fix another issue with non complainant code. if you're still having problems please do the following

I have the same exact problem since the the latest update on 22/Sep, I Deleted the hoster directory in plugins and re-update from jdupdate.jar but it didn't solve the problem, I compressed the config directory to e-mail it to you.

1. Make sure you have updated your JD.
2. If the problem still persists, post your log.

My JD doesn't download anymore at all since the last update either.
I press start, the client does nothing for a few seconds and the start button comes back up again to the inactive state. I've tried everything suggested and my log (with logging set to all ) just says the following... ------------------------ Thread: 131 ----------------------- 131 23/09/14 16:29:37 - INFO [java_downloader] -> DownloadWatchDog: start ------------------------ Thread: 132 ----------------------- 132 23/09/14 16:29:37 - INFO [java_downloader] -> 4rounds left to start new downloads 132 23/09/14 16:29:38 - INFO [java_downloader] -> 3rounds left to start new downloads 132 23/09/14 16:29:39 - INFO [java_downloader] -> 2rounds left to start new downloads 132 23/09/14 16:29:40 - INFO [java_downloader] -> 1rounds left to start new downloads 132 23/09/14 16:29:41 - INFO [java_downloader] -> 0rounds left to start new downloads 132 23/09/14 16:29:41 - INFO [java_downloader] -> DownloadWatchDog: stop ------------------------ Thread: 10 ----------------------- 10 23/09/14 16:29:41 - INFO [java_downloader] -> Downloads stopped |

Ok! This has worked for me
Mac You can do this via terminal, 'cd /Applications/jDownloader.app/Contents/Resources/Java' (think it is) and run 'java -jar jdupdate.jar', I assume you can do this also in file explorer type of thing, and run jdupdate.jar as java application also (sorry not a Mac user). |

It came back and working now, I'm not sure how (tried the jdupdate and didn't work at first).
Anyway, thanks! About JD2: is there a reason the default folder is C:\Users\AppData and not program files? Should I just change it? Thanks again. |

@sidewalkhustla
Java5 ? eek @OfirG I would leave it myself. You will have less issues with that path than program files. program files will require admin services were as \users\appdata\local\ doesn't

Is there a way to go back to the version before this most recent update?

No, unless you have a backup.
And it seems that the problem has been fixed.

Hello. Although I use JD quite frequently, I update it only occasionally. I did it approx. half an hour ago, and I regret to have done it: this afternoon it worked perfectly (it detected automatically youtube links, but now, although I try to add the link manually, it doesn't react at all.
My system is a osx 10.6.8, and the log is at: http://jdownloader.org/pastebin/131523 Thanks in advance. Sergio. |

have you followed directions here? http://board.jdownloader.org/showpos...4&postcount=44 @alu000 youtube and stable has limited support. sig issue in stable been broken for probably 6+ months. sig covers all music videos and some other special videos. if you want better youtube support you will need to use JD2. raztoki

6+ months... As I said, I don't upload jdownloader very much. I'll try JD2. I think that I cannot undo the last changes in order to uninstall the last... 1100+ updates? Yes, 1100+ . Am I right? Sergio. |

@alu000
sig = signature, which is a value in youtube final download link. In these special videos, the value is scrambled/obstructed via javascript. The code to handle that in stable plugin (we have a new youtube plugin for JD2), is broken for many months. you can not 'undo' updates easily and it requires you to have made backup of your installation prior to updating and you would also have to disable updates to prevent same issue happening again.

If JD2 was installed to its default path, it will be in a new location on harddrive. before starting JD2 you can copy over the config/ directory from old install to JD2 install. on first run of JD2 it will convert your old configs to the new config system. Nothing should be deleted per say, if you skipped this step as it wasn't there to start with.
If you installed over the top of your old install it should convert on first run automatically. Still it shouldn't remove the list, not unless your running cleanup functions after download (remove links after download etc). After conversion of old configs into new configs they are renamed and not removed. You should still have a copy of that, which you could use for re-conversion. JD0.9 backed up into backup/ you might have zip in there which you could restore to config/ (you will need to delete cfg/*.zip and cfg/*ejs) and then start JD2 again. those are your choices/options depending on which approach you took. raztoki
