Zippyshare stopped working. Comes up in linkgrabber but download keeps looping at "Retry in 15 minutes". No problem downloading the files with browser.

I see a new release for core update but ... it doesn't want to update for me.. When it's released it's supposed to update automatically right?

I needed to update Jdownloader hoping that the problem with zippyshare was fixed in the latest update. I verified, the current core revision is #47412, released on March 17th while mine is #47256 said to be released and outdated on the website. I tried to update through the app but it said that I'm already using the latest version, so I followed the instructions on the website and deleted the core.jar file and the update and tmp folders then launched JD2 but it still didn't work, I even completely uninstalled Jdownloader and reinstalled it but in vain.

There is a user that already made the fix days ago independently. IDK what the DEV's in this jDownloader app are waiting on, considering zippyshare is the most popular used.

Inofrmation about the closure of the project

Hey Folks,

We’ve decided that we’re shutting down the project at the end of the month. Please make backups of your important files, you have about two weeks to do so. Until then, the site will run without any changes.

There are several reasons for the closure:

– Since 2006 we have been on the market in an unchanged form, that is, as ad financed/free file hosting. However, you have been visiting in less and less over the years, as the arguably very simple formula of the services we offer is slowly running out of steam. I guess all the competing file storage service companies on the market look better, offer better performance and more features. No one needs a dinosaur like us anymore.

– All sorts of adblockers, whether built into the browser, as add-ons, or in the form of DNS services. Sure, we all use them, but they take away any control the site owner has over the site. Eventually we get to the point where a vicious cycle begins, in order to pay for the server infrastructure you are forced to place more and more ads, then users fire up more and more adblockers and we get to a point like today.

– Rising electricity prices. Over the past year, electricity prices have gone up 2.5 times, which, with a large number of servers, gives a significant increase in costs that we have no way to balance.

There are still a bunch of smaller reasons, but we could write a book on this, and probably no one would want to read it.

To sum it up, we can no longer afford to maintain the site.

I understand you are very busy, but could you please post an update that would allow users to download Zippy files before you release the larger JD2 Core Update?

You may have seen the news that Zippy is closing forever in 10 days so time is limited for users to download files on this service. If you could please quickly release an update so we can download Zippy files again, we would be grateful.

I'd suggest using zippy-downloader by mansuf on github in the meanwhile.

You have to install python and it's command line so it's not for everyone but it does work.
If you choose to install it and need help just let me know.

First noticed it when the Zippy wait 15 min issue started and tried full uninstalls and new instal with latest 2.01 version but ,all still end up with the last update being 9 Jan ,and i know it should have had one a week or so ago

Any fix appreciated
or can i delete an update file to force it to find latest
