Sourceurl only captured when copying selected text
I've set up a packagizer rule for when a sourceurl is matched. However when I right click a link and hit copy in Firefox or Chrome it isn't captured. Neither when I drag and drop the link to JD. It only works when I select the part on the webpage that contains the link and hit ctrl+c. Is this the expected behavior?

Looks like you might have mistaken Packagizer rules with LinkCrawler rules.
Packagizer rules describe what to do with added items (e.g. change filename, path, download destination). LinkCrawler rules describe which things should be added.

@pspzockerscene: He's talking about the additional source URL information when copying something to clipboard from browser.
@Nice2MeetYou: This highly depends on a.) how you copy it: -rightclick on a link and do a "Copy Link" will only place the link into clipboard, nothing else -selection and "Copy"(to clipboard) will also place several flavors into clipboard, like text only, html view of the selection and maybe additional meta information like current browser/tab URL -drag/drop also highly depends on what you drag/drop, links, selection, browser tab...everything is different b.) what browser: -every browser does this differently and c.) what system: -every browser even does this differently depending on os In short: JDownloader tries to find/process as many information from clipboard as possible. see above

@Nice2MeetYou: now it's up to you if you're talking about the clipboard stuff I had explained or something else like pspzockerscene thinks

Yes Jiaz is correct I was talking about adding source URL when copying from a browser. I thought JD has some magical way to get the source url when copying direct links from a browser but how could it Thanks for the response

@Nice2MeetYou: Thanks for the followup. The magic is to dig deep inside the clipboard flavors but unfortunately this piece of information is very unreliable :(
