After about 1 minute the connection gets killed.
Either it is something on your side (Firewall,AV) or any tool or ISP or... I've added new experimental ssl setting. With next plugin update go to Settings-Plugins, search for rapidgator and enable ssl and check if that helps

whats the proper way to let jdownloader through my firewall ?
i have windows 10 |

You don't have to change any firewall settings. Please do the update and enable the experimental ssl like described

I have also been seeing the same thing. About 50% of downloads with rapidgator show disconnection problems, have a 5 minute delay then resume again.

@borochris: please try the experimental setting to enable ssl

I have now done so. Only had one small download to do and that went without interruption, though it did go considerably slower.
I will monitor it as and when I get more stuff to download over the next couple of days. |

The new setting does work to stop disconnections, but as borochris says it's a lot slower. I've found it drops from an average speed of around 7.5MB/s to just over 2.
I'm currently playing about with using the speed limit function, which does seem to be having a positive effect in reducing the disconnects even when set slightly higher than my average download speeds. |

No disconnects with this setting but it is about 1/6 the speed

@borochris: such huge speed drop sounds like either cpu limit or very bad internet connection and very high packetdrop rate. SSL is much more sensitive to packetdrops.
How is the cpu usage with ssl enabled?

The CPU usage on both my laptop and my firewall are minimal whilst downloading.
The difference of having that set are actually even worse. Just tested with the same download and I can get 26-29 Mib/s with it off and 1.5-3 with it on Last edited by borochris; 13.10.2017 at 10:30. |

Such huge difference is not normal. Either something causes high paket drops or slows down https on purpose. But is the connection *stable* ?

Yes, not seen a disconnect when using it but it is actually quicker to live with the 5 min disconnect than run at that speed. Is there any way to reduce the 5 minute wait before retry?

Did you try to use a vpn and check connection stability with that ?
To me it looks like either the connection is very unstable or limited in upload (required for https) or there is some sort of traffic shaping going on. there is no reason why https should be that much slower than normal http

@Jiaz The instability happens with or without VPN. The low speed with https forced also happens through VPN or not.
@borochris you may want to try the solution posted in the plugin forum. it does seem to work and should still be faster than forced https. Quote:

@Malpholio I tried that for a while but it wasn't 100% and was severely restricting downloads from other hosts which were operating at higher speeds.

@hveen: maybe your logins are wrong? Please verify them in your browser. In case the issue doesn't solve itself, please contact us via support@jdownloader.org so we can do a Teamviewer session

I too have problems with Rapidgator. I get continuous "Connection Problems" on all downloads. It takes an hour to download a file which takes 8 minutes with other hotsers. JDownloader will only give 5 Connections instead of the 20 I get with Uploaded. The problems has existed ever I started with Rapidgator. I read articles here and other forums have that many people around the world have similar problems with Rapidgator but nothing changes. "Connection Problems" only happen with Rapidgator no other hoster does this. Paid of free.
I have sent emails to Rapidgator Support many times over the years. All I get in reply are form emails telling me to hunt the internet for solutions. Never had i ever had a human reply. Maybe the place is run by a sentient computer bent on destroying downloading. Who knows. Why am I still with them? The unfortunate reason is that most people upload to Rapidgator more than any other hoster. |

@borochris: Because this is no JDownloader issue but caused by network/firewall/av/server/isp.
@JC007: The plugin is limited to 5 max connections which should be more than enough. 20 connections is TOO much and you will encounter network issues Please provide a logfile, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post shown logID here

Thank you for your reply, Jiaz
Please don't get me wrong, JDownloader is the best downloading program there is. My problem is with Rapidgator and there continuous dropouts. I posted here because the opening post and others had the same problem. There is nothing wrong with Jdownloader. But here is the log anyway. 01.05.18 07.33.22 <--> 01.05.18 08.02.55 jdlog://4866754433151/ |

@JC007: The issue is caused by network. The connection is killed
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset This can either be caused by local setup/firewall/av or remote firewall/system. This is no JDownloader issue. I can see you're using 4 connections, so you should try to set max connections to 1 first.
