Backup file - Problem?
I have finally got through several long download lists and deleted all download links.
I then saved a backup thinking that that would clear (empty) the backup file. On checking the database.zip file in Program Files-JDownloader-backup the file is 13,212KB. Opening the zip displays two further files: database.script 100,39798 4Bytes database.properties 434 Bytes I know that these files aren't particularly large but am somewhat surprised that they aren't much smaller. Just wondered if this is normal or has something gone wrong? P.S. I have deleted all previous backup databases before saving this one. Last edited by Jiaz; 27.04.2011 at 12:56. |

100 MB is not normal for database.script with no links.
Have you tried to restart JD? |

The database probably is corrupt, but there might be ways to recover it.
@Mav6215 I recommend two methods :- 1) I would copy all your links, that haven't been downloaded, to a text file and start with a clean jD installation. 2) You can also try this typical great Jiaz method : "Increase memory to compress the database". Jiaz knows everything about jD. Is there any reason why you keep so many links in jD's queue? |

Thanks for the replies.
@tony2long I haven't used the Restart option with JD but I have rebooted the PC. @remi At the time I posted there were no links as originally stated. Having been caught out a while ago from a JD crash I regularly backup my links. After downloading many links I delete them from the list and then choose Save>Backup. Sometimes there are still links to which I add more then Save>Backup, download some then repeat this cycle till all links have been downloaded. Yesterday was the first time for ages that I didn't have any links left and that is when I was surprised at the size of the backup file. I have added more links since so when all those have downloaded I'll delete then try restarting JD using File>Restart. |

Try Jiaz's method as posted by remi, need more memory to cleanup.
If still big, you may send the zip to me (PM me first for email address) and I will try to clean it up for you. |

Then you can as well start with a cleanly installed jD.
