memory consumption is ridiculous
downloading 5gb x 3 files, the program is already using over 700mb of memory, that's the amount of memory my browser uses. what's the point in this using this if my browser can just download the files without increasing the memory usage? jdownloader also drastically slows down your PC, i can't even open anything.
i just installed jdownloader like yesterday, thinking it will improve my download performance, but it's doing the opposite lmao |

Check the about dialog of JDownloader. It shows current memory usage/current memory allocation/max memory allocation. JDownloader is written in Java which uses garbage collection.
What are your system specs? I ask because when JDownloader slows down your computer that much, then something else is the cause and JDownloader might just be the trigger

JD memory is also dependant on how many links are within linkgrabber/download tabs
everything requires a memory allocation.
