Shown Speed isn't real in RS?
Hi, I'm writing today, because I'm wondering to some downloading speeds shown by Jdownloader when downloading from the Rapidshare server.
Well, for starters, I gotta say, connection with rapidshare with Jdownloader in my computer is anything but stable. When I download with the browser speeds tend to go (at this hour) between 60 and 90 kbs/s, however, with Jdownloader it shows constants extreme up and downs, like, for 10 seconds it's 138 kbs/s and then for another 12 for example, it shows 10 or 15. Now on to the real problem for me. At every point in my download from Rapidshare, I really don't believe the speed that Jdownloader is Showing me is the actual one in processs. When it shows about 30 kbs/s it's more or so accurate, the amount of size that advaces through the progress bar is kind of proportional to the speed shown, however, this is hardly the case. Whenever Jdownloader shows any speed for RS above 50 kbs/s, the progress bar simply stops advancing, this also happens when speeds shown are below 20 kbs/s. To see that is not a problem with other servers, after a while downloading from RS, I tried downloading simultaneously from MU and RS. MU was allright, shown speed was proportional to advance in progress bar, however, RS kept showing the same problem. So, I'm wondering if this is proper functioning. Is everything allright, or is it a glitch or bug?. I'm currently using version 0.9.579, the latest onw (Updater shows no updates available) and log file is attached as a rar (It was well over 15 kbs, so had to compress). Best of luck to all. Last edited by Jiaz; 23.11.2009 at 00:21. |

Everything is fine there is no speed bug , this was discussed and tested some time ago. Browsers cant show undulating/wavy download speeds properly. As a free user you will have these speed issues very often.
heres an example proof: see you |

thats normal for rs free user. rs limits speed by
sending data, pause, sending data, longer pause, more data, pause, pause, data, pause and so on jd can only update its speed whenever a sendingphase is and thats why you get *strange* results in very lowspeed situations
