Hi mynikko,

I've tried to fix this issue although I cannot reproduce it.

Please try again after the next update.

Hi,

I just installed JD2 on another desktop computer and I still got the same error.

I looked at the log, and I think the server somehow returned a 403 when I tried to download it. Very strange.

Default JDownloader isn't grabbing video from Twitter

Some time ago I read a message that said something about the plugin being out of date. It has since disappeared, but JD still fails to grab video, so I guess the issue is still there. Thank you for your continuous work.

Java: 8 Act 191 (Comp 1.8.0_91-b12)
Windows 10 Home: 17134.648

Twitter plugin version: It's the one that comes with JD, and I have it set to autoupdate, so I think it's the latest

It is still a problem today. I've never been able to download a video off Twitter using Jdownloader.

I use another tool called Allavsoft, and it downloads Twitter videos just fine, although it only download one video at a time. The reason I'd prefer to use JDownloader is that it can download an entire page, rather than just individual videos.

The problem I'm seeing in JDownloader is that it incorrectly reads the URLs. A properly formatted URL for a video would be:

**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
and Allavsoft knows how to process this. JDownloader doesn't do this, and instead it appears to only save the source URL in the form of **External links are only visible to Support Staff**t work either.

Actually I should add that if I "copy tweet " in a twitter post menu then JD does seem to grab the video correctly but possibly the mouse context menu "copy video address" to JD option is unreliable.

Do you have a real life example for this way?

Our way is basically this:

twitter.com/SpaceX/status/1114611309180411905
-->
api.twitter.com/1.1/videos/tweet/config/1114611309180411905.json
-->
Grab "playbackUrl" --> Download

What exactly do you mean?
With CTRL + C you are also able to copy the content/source URL.

And what is actually selected before you Cntrl C?
I don't use keyboard shortcuts , I'm a mouse context menu user.
I use the "copy video address" context menu when hovering over a selected video
Twitter's own "copy ink to tweet" seems to do the same thing.

Sorry then I simply failed to understand what you ment - I thought it was about JDownloader.

JD supports various kinds of twitter URLs.
It should recognize content no matter whether you use the direct video URL or the URL which is in your browsers' address field at that moment.

Not working. Can't grab via "copy video address" or full tweet url in browser bar
- says "offline"

Fixed!
In the future, if JD fails at this point but you know that the content is a video, you can simply create this URL and add it to JDownloader:
Code:
twitter.com/i/videos/tweet/<tweet_id>
