Help, JDownloader doesn't open and doesn't ask for password
Hello
I just updated JDownloader V2. Now I can't start it anymore. When I start it, the password dialog pops up and closes very fast. Any idea what I can do or how I can get my link list back? Last edited by Jiaz; 02.08.2018 at 18:12. |

There has been no update in JDownloader and the output is normal and clear. I guess you've enabled/set a password in JDownloader.
See https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...08&postcount=9 you will find the file in cfg folder of your JDownloader

I did, but a long time ago and it always worked. Well, deleting org.jdownloader.settings.GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings.json did work! Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the feedback! I just tested it on my machine and it works as expected.
Also there have not been any changes to that part of code in VERY LONG time

Hi,
I had the same problem in these days and I fixed just now, after reading this thread, by removing the tray password by hand from the mentioned .cfg file. I set up the password years ago, I suppose that the last update is somehow breaking the password feature. If you need my log files to investigate, just ask. I suggest to edit the thread title if possible so it's easier to find this thread about this issue, I found it just by luck. Thank you |

I did test the password feature several times and it works just fine here. I cannot rerproduce any issues. So it would be good to get more information. When you set a new password, does the feature work as expected or fail again?
In case it does fail, I would like to do a teamviewer session with you so we can check/find out why it fails for you but works fine here/many others

Hi,
before writing to you, I tried to set a new password and I had the same issue, so I gave up and stayed without password for a few days. Then, since I had a huge download list (27000+ files), I supposed it was related to this issue, so I did a settings backup, then I cleared the download list, I set up a new password and it worked as expected. So I though the issue was just related to the download list but, after that, I restored the backup (so I had my download list again), I set up the password again and the password is still working as expected. In the end I fixed my issue so it's all right for me, but the reason of the issue is still a mistery. |

The password issue got fixed with an update from friday after I was able to reproduce/locate the issue. So you can set a password again if you like.
The issue was not connected to (huge)download list. I'm sorry for the inconvenience
