Since weeks, 480p YT variants doesn't download to max speed. The dls are made of from 1 to 2 MiB/s bursts and several seconds with no activity. The average speed keeps around 400-500 KiB/s. From mega I can keep stable 6 MiB/s dls, for example.

- I've tried two different data mobile and a fiber connection.
- I've tried connecting through two different VPNs.
- I haven't seen this in another variants or servers.

Has anybody else noticed this?

MEGA and YT are two completely different services which you cannot compare!

Please read THIS - especially the part about downloading from video/streaming websites as this is exactly what youtube is doing for a few years already.

Then again youtube is made by Google and you'll never be able to understand their algorithms which basically means their streaming speed-limits could also be dynamic per user or other factors.

If you read my post you'll see I wasn't comparing mega and yt but using mega just as a mere example (that's what the "for example" part means). Actually, I get the same speed with any server able to provide it. If you read my post, I implicitly say that I get the same speed (6 MiB/s) from YT also, but with the remaining variants (non-480p). If you read my post, I say I used several connections and 2 VPN to dismiss some IP-related issue.

Hello,

Lately I've been having a problem, only with music content from official music channels.
Even if the video is in hd, jdownloader only finds 360p.
I tried on 2 different computers, with completely different setups. (same problem)

Here's two examples of videos in 1080p, but jdownloader only gets 360p.

I haven't downloaded much this month and not at all from Jun 20. Also, I can watch any Youtube video, even now with no problem, I just can't download it with Jdownloader.

Here is a screenshot of a video playing on Youtube while Jdownloader is saying too many requests. I can play YT all day long everyday but I can download a single video thru Jdownloader.

Look at the URL, the YT video ID is the same.

Too many requests error started poping up for last 2 or 3 days for me too. I can post few links if you guys really need but it's showing this error on every link I add.

Edit:- Just to be clear, it's working fine in browser but JDownloader shows that error. Pretty sure that won't be IP blocking or I wouldn't be able to watch youtube in browser unless it has something to do with months old login problem since in the browser, we can stay logged in.

As said, YT is trying to detect- and rate-limit tools and they seem to detect JD atm.

If I was handy with programming, I would try to help but my understanding of any/all programming languages start at if and ends at then with some brackets somewhere in between

Single Youtube videos and playlist containing below 110 can be grabbed for links. But for playlist with somewhere above a 110+, nothing happens.
