Update released now.

Regarding a recently published Facebook post of Linksnappy:
We are not aware of any Linksnappy <--> JDownloader issues and got zero reports of users.
We were told that a 3rd party JDownloader linksnappy plugin linked via their website would be better than ours.
We cannot confirm this - also it seems like that plugin is our old linksnappy plugin in revision 36465 dated 30.03.2017 and slightly modified --> Old code --> We would NOT recommend using that!

Also, issues shown in a video show that JDownloader will try in free mode if premium/Multihoster download attempts fail.
If you wish to change this behavior, simply set up usage rules for your preferred hosters as described here:
https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...-free-download

Because the unofficial plugin contains code to prevent this behavior --> This is bad.
Our plugins are designed to switch to other download candidates (Accounts) if X-attempts via an account fail.
Without this behavior, you could e.g. own 5 working accounts but because downloads fail via the first one, JDownloader would never be able to start your downloads.
Using the mentioned 2rd party plugin, exactly that can happen and JD would be stuck forever.

We are not evil - please do not hesitate to contact us via support@jdownloader.org
;)

It's actually been going on for a while now, it's mainly rapidgator (I cannot be 100% certain it's rapidgator only though)

Generally the download will start as normal, but halt at some point asking for a captcha. Restarting the download will usually work, however this also resets it, losing whatever portion of the file already obtained.

I tried that plugin that they published, it worked even less well, so no solution there.

You should be able to restart/continue without resetting the download!
Please provide a logfile, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs
and post the shown logID here

Two rapidgator links failed during download, and defaulted to captchas. Rejecting the captcha and force starting - same result. Downloaded fine via the linksnappy web interface.

At first test, the new update has cut my download speed to a third. New plugin = slow; quit, replace with previous version = normal speed again. Will experiment further.

@Cugel
the update has no influence on speed, all it did was added extra error handling for response code and checks on other header responses like content-type. If you followed Jiaz recommendation and reduced the chunk threshold, it might have slowed down speeds.

I had using LS since a few days ago and so far I am satisfied with it.:thumbup:
I have seen the download speed go up and down all the time and it just happened periodically. I guess it's because they gave the first priority to leech the files from the hoster server first.

Yeah, it's pretty decent service, but it does appear that they speed limit some hosters some of the time. Not a deal breaker IMO.

And raztoki, further experiments did not reproduce the slowed speeds, so looks like everything is good.

hoster server/backbone <transit route> yourisp < > you
Hoster server/backbone <transit route> multihoster < transit route> yourisp < > you

there are more steps involved when dealing with multihoster, more chance of things going wrong and speeds been influenced from it. for all you know it could have been a hoster issue, or multihoster issue and probably wont ever know what is the underlying cause! Well not without an account on both, and testing both (same link) at the same time.

@2bugs

their hasn't been any changes to linksnappy since Feb.

That exception indicates the class file for AuroravidTo is missing (deleted). It should not effect linksnappy operation.
