JD2 is eating up virtual memory
My FreeNAS setup started giving me memory warnings and when I checked swapinfo I saw that it was around 99%..
I thought what the hell is going on, and when I checked with htop, I saw that JD2 sat down in first place for using virtual memory... It's using 9,9GBs of VM by doing nothing... Yes, that's right, it's not downloading right now or anything but uses 9,9GBs of VM. I think there is a memory leak but I don't know why this happened now. Could one of the updates caused this problem? |

You know that VIRT is not about real usage?!
My eclipse shows 9GB, Thunderbird 4GB, a console tool 4GB. I can easily code a tool that has 100GB VIRT. stackoverflow.com/questions/561245/virtual-memory-usage-from-java-under-linux-too-much-memory-used You've got to check the MEM% column, or RES, not VIRT to find the cause of your swap issue
