Default Rapidgator connection time out issue

For the last couple of days, I've been running into this:

--see picture attachment--

15.07.21 08.13.50 <--> 13.07.21 21.58.24 jdlog://7984825302851/

Latest JDownloader updates, changed DNS, flushed DNS, updated java

Seems to be unique only to Rapidgator

Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

Log is full of
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
The connection is getting killed, unconnected to JDownloader or java or DNS.
those are caused by Firewall/AV or unstable connection.

It's only happening with Rapidgator.

Filefactory, Mega and nitroflare are working just fine.

As I explained. The connection is killed by something. Something can be Firewall/AV or some other application on your setup/system. It can also be remote Firewall or ISP caused. I'm sorry but can't provide more help as the cause is outside of JDownloader

I'm on a VPN so I don't see how it's ISP caused. I'm also using the VPN's DNS. And even if it's ISP caused, then why is it allowing Filefactory, Mega and nitroflare to go through?

Firewall and AV have had JDownloader permissions for a long time now. I made no changes, there.

For the first time in years, I'm stumped.

DNS has nothing to do with that.
Well, for example it could be caused by VPN. Hoster might block usage of VPN because many hoster do block/ban VPN to avoid account sharing.
Have you tried without VPN?

What? And let my ISP know what I'm downloading?

The last people in the world I trust is my ISP.

I would trust my ISP more than a VPN provider. ISP has to honor laws/regulations whereas VPN ..who knows what they are doing.
And I did not tell you to never use VPN anymore but just to test if the issues might indeed be caused by the VPN.
Did you test the same file/download in browser with VPN enabled?

Just to not understand me wrong. Of course the use of VPN is legit but for me, in germany, I trust my ISP more due to heavy law regulations.
VPN is a tool when I have to check geo location/restriction stuff.

In the US, it's the opposite. ISPs are scum. That's why I got a VPN in the first place.

I tried one file with the VPN turned off and what happens is it's throttled slower & slower to the point until it's only crawling at 10kb/s which will take about two weeks to download. Funny it only happens with Rapidgator and not anything else.

Is there any way to shorten the timeout on my end? From say 4 minutes to under 30 seconds?

@GWT10: Okay didn't know the situation is THAT bad in the US. Download was slow but did not abort, did it?
You might wanna try a different VPN provider or with your provider, most tools can switch/change between UDP/TCP tunnel, have you tried that?

Timeout, you mean the waiting time on JDownloader after the connection got killed?

No, I haven't. I'll try that over the weekend and see of that makes any difference

Yes, how do I reduce the wait time?

It re-connects after 4 minutes. Then works for about 2 minutes, then it disconnects to 4 minutes again.

Hi,

Ok, so I tried to switch between UDP and TCP and that made no difference. Using different VPN servers also made no difference.

It still re-connects after 4 minutes, then works for about 2 minutes, then it disconnects to 4 minutes again.

So is there any way to reduce the wait time?

Sorry for late response. Do you still encounter this issue?
I'm sorry but currently no way to reduce that time but you could make use of Eventscripter, see https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=70525 and a script (ask mgpai for help/hint) that auto restarts such links earlier.

Actuallly I'm also having a similar issue that has been going on for about the same time as the other user. I tried to download multiple files at the same time and had connection issues within a couple of minutes. Downloaded via browser no issue. I've changed some settings going from 4 sim downloads and 4 chunks down to 1 download and 2 chunks and it's been ok. I also had the issue previously where the downloads speed would drop at about the 50% mark and I think this started shortly after that was resolved. Under pluggins I have enable API premium and enable resume free checked.

The speed drops are not caused by JD and you will experience them via browser too.
Try to increase max. simultaneous downloads (not chunks!) in an attempt get higher constant speeds.

When I downloaded via browser I watched the 2 files and they were steady in their speed. I raised the downloads(as you mentioned) to 3 and left the chunks at 2 and within a minute 2 of the files had connection issues. It doesn't seem to like to download more than 1 file at a time. Would one of the plugin settings(or other settings) cause the issue?

Not that I know.
Maybe you randomly got assigned different downloadservers or can you alyways reproduce this issue?
This shouldn't change anything but try the following:
1. Stop all running downloads and go to Settings -> Plugins -> rapidgator.net -> Disable "Enable APIPremium"
2. Go to Settings -> Account Manager -> Rightclick on your RG account -> Refresh
3. Start downloading.

As said this shouldnt make any difference at all but technically, RG could introduce limits that are only applied to API users.

I'm glad you posted this. I'm having the same issues. And I went and purchased a new VPN too... no change. I'm not sure if it's JDownloader or RapidGator but either way it's making both unusable. Has anyone found a solution yet??

It can't be caused by JD.

You will probably get the same speeds via browser.

I have been using JD for years with RapidGator and never had this problem. It's fairly new. Something has changed somewhere... and I found it interesting when I saw others were starting to have the same problems around the same times.

At which times?
As said speed issues are never caused by JDownloader.
As explained in the linked article, there are a lot of factors that influence your download speed.
