bbc.co.uk - why doesn't this link work?
As an example, these 2 links download normally:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** But this one (from the same site) gives me the "Try restarting this link (plugin outdated?)" error. **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Log details: 01.05.18 14.49.39 <--> 01.05.18 14.56.22 jdlog://8796754433151/ I can't figure out why! |

Try to update ffmpeg,see ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/
and replace the files in tools/Windows/ffmpeg/x64 Looks like the stream has either issues or uses codec stuff that is not yet supported by used (old)ffmpeg version. So please try newer version first

I gave the ffmpeg a try, but still no luck. Very occasionally I do get this error with BBC downloads. I tried the link with FreeRapid Downloader, which was successful but, if all else fails, I can always do a screen grab, which is not quite as good, and I can't do anything else on the PC for the duration of the program.

Can you provide new log with updated ffmpeg version?

Log shows that you still use old version, built on Jul 29 2014
You've got to download newer version of ffmpeg and replace existing files tools/Windows/ffmpeg/x64 Please replace ffmpeg and in case it still fails, create log with new version

Log still shows the old ffmpeg version
built on Jul 29 2014 22:10:17 You've got to replace ffmpeg.exe in tools/Windows/ffmpeg/x64 folder of your installation You can open your JDownloader folder in about dialog JDownloader

This is interesting!
I downloaded the ffmpeg update a few days ago, and replaced the files inside the x64 folder. But I've just noticed that there is an additional ffmpeg file inside the 'bin' folder, whareas my update was outside it. I then deleted everything in the x64 folder, replaced them with the updated files, and added the BBC link. JD threw up an error that ffmpeg was missing. So I added a second copy of ffmpeg, this time putting it outside of the 'bin' folder as before. Then I added the BBC link once again - and this time it successfully downloaded it. But why are two copies of ffmpeg necessary? |

Maybe the bin folder was from your extraction of the newer ffmpeg
JDownloader structure has no bin folder, only tools/Windows/ffmpeg/x64 or tools/Windows/ffmpeg/i386. I guess you did extract the same way and creating new files and not overwriting the tools/Windows/ffmpeg/x64/ffmpeg.exe one Thanks for the feedback!

Since you ask, one site that used to work in JD was itv.com. But they seem to have thwarted your efforts of late. Any info on this one?

Site seems to require account to view.
Can you send logins to support@jdownloader.org then I can check. We have public holiday in germany tomorrow, so don't expect an answer before friday

Something strange is going on regarding my original query. Links were working fine yesterday. Today, although the links download alright, the resulting videos suffer from intermittent freezing and pixelation etc.
Here are two example links: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** |

@waterspout: please provide logs from the download. Please enable debug mode first. Enable Settings-Advanced Settings-Log.debugmodeenabled and restart JDownloader
Then download again and provide the log.

There are strange network issues. I've added more debug and also added some workaround. Please try again after next core update. I saw same error for different user/site, so very likely to be caused by issues on Amazon S3 (there the stream is stored)

Core update just went live, the issue should be fixed with it. Newer ffmpeg has new parallel download support that was not yet supported and caused data corruption for hls downloads
