Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD)
Hello, I just got the BSOD twice. The problem was related to a file named "win32k.sys", if I remember correctly.
After that, I haven't started JDownloader2 and the system didn't crashed anymore, so it's possible it had something to do with JDownloader2. I went to Help -> Create Log and I got 19.12.13 01.16.16to19.12.13 02.08.29 jdlog://9274015774831/ 19.12.13 01.16.04to19.12.13 01.16.05 jdlog://5374015774831/ Do I need to supply any other info? |

No, JD cannot crash a system.
Check your hardware (especially the RAM) and make sure you don't have any viruses or similar installed. GreeZ psp

Prepared - This problem may occur when you run a program that dynamically creates and deletes menu items within a loop.
If you're using XP SP2, please update this Service Pack 3 or Windows 7/8 |

BSOD issue
When running JD2 Beta Core #23598 Updater #397
I get a BSOD when JD2 is IDLE too long. Probably caused by: NETIO!RtlCopyBufferToMdl Driver If JD2 is not running the issue doesn't happen. If JD2 is running and downloading the issue happens after 10-15min If JD2 is running BUT idle the issue happend 5min after JD2 starts Any idea? |

Darn, I forgot to mention: I have Win7 64 bit
I reinstalled JD2 and now it seems to be fine. Only got BSOD twice, and each time it happened 5-10 min after starting to download in JD2, somehow similar to in4hell Last edited by Prepared; 20.12.2013 at 14:13. |

Prepared - Do you use "McAfee Antivirus"?
Please more detailed information about your computer. Microsoft networking driver netio.sys was listed as probable cause in the latest dump, but it is not the cause. If software related, Driver Verifier can help find the 3rd party driver at fault. techsupportforum.com/forums/f299/driver-verifier-windows-8-1-8-0-7-and-vista-bsod-related-473665.html Last edited by Charlie-N; 21.12.2013 at 14:10. |

jdownloader2 also causes my computer to crash. Not just one computer, but two. One has windows 7 64 bit, and the other 7 32 bit. This began happening about one month ago. I thought it might be a hardware issue so I transferred everything from one computer, the 64bit, to the other, and the problem was duplicated. Neither computer crashes under any other circumstances. On both computers, the storage folders are located on an external hard drive connected by usb.
So, I then reinstalled the last 09 jdownloader version to see if the computer would blue screen under the same circumstances, and it doesn't. Which leads me to think that the problem, if anyone else out there is having similar issues, is due to some kind of a bug in jdownloader2 related most specifically to downloading and unraring files to an external HD connected via a usb. Thanks! |

JDownloader is not causing the crash. It might trigger some issues which lead to the crash, but JDownloader itself is not possible to do so. It runs in user space and user space cannot crash kernel space.
What Hardware do you have? What exactly crashes? JDownloader/Windows/XY? Does only a restart help? What firewall/av do yo use? Does it crash instant or after x mins/hours?

You are correct. After further experimentation it has to be a hardware issue even though it now occurs on both desktop computers that I use. The computer "blue screens," well both computers the 32 and the 64. The crash occurs only during jdownloader's "internal" "unrar" process on the external hard drive. Nearly every time this process starts and while jdownloader is continuing to download other files simultaneously. Jjust after a file has completed and when it starts to unrar or however jdownloader unpackages this kind of file, the windows 7 computers don't seem capable of handling this. One computer has 16GB of ram, and I tested them and they passed the test. My apologies if my technical language isn't correctI haven't tried downloading files to my internal hard drives as compared to the external ones connected by a dock. I also haven't tried jdownloader with the automatic process stopped, and just let the files completed without unpackaging them, I suppose I could do that? I suppose I could experiment with that? Stopping the jdownloader unrar process would require locating the rar files on my hard drive, and going through assorted passwords for each instance which complicates the process significantly.. This did not happen until about a month ago as I wrote above and I haven't made any hardware changes on either desktop, so I'm stuck. I use Windows 7 firewall. The hard drives are Seagate, the Hard drive docks are Thermaltake. Last edited by geoff29; 15.12.2015 at 22:55. Reason: add an additional idea |

Did you check memory with memtest?
Did you check smart data of your disks? Do you use KillerLan network drivers? Does it crash while extracting to internal disk too? Or only on external disk? Can you provide a screenshot of the bluescreen? You can disable auto reboot. Would be good to know what caused the bsod. It should show some message/driver.

Thanks Jiaz for the help!! I really appreciate it! I did perform a memory test and that was ok.
Yesterday I began to think that I would just close my problem because it must be hardware (I just checked the power supply to my Thermaltake dock for example to see if maybe I'd accidentally switched it - which I hadn't it's the right power supply - I've made dumb mistakes like that a few times.) Today with your suggestions I'll go through them and hopefully come back to this thread in a while. But before that, and before going to the other tests you suggest, I had disabled KillerLan network drivers on my windows 7 64 system, because I thought that the KillerLan drivers were the cause of the bluescreen. I'm not sure if I have KillerLan drivers on my windows 7 32 system right at the moment, but I kind of doubt it. Should I be using the KillerLan drivers? If so I will re-enable them. Also, is there a conflict if I have both the KillerLan network drivers and Atheros wireless network adapter drivers simultaneously? Should only one or the other be enabled? I'll google that on my own. A month ago I thought the problem was due to Network drivers. Last edited by geoff29; 16.12.2015 at 17:14. Reason: correction |

When you have Killer Hardware, please make sure you use latest drivers, see
https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...emleak---crash Same for Atheros wireless.
