are there any hs_err files in your jd folder?
if so its not jd fault, its some other software that crashes java!

you can try to deinstall all java and reinstall the latest again
furthermore you can try to setup firewall/virusscanner right!

I have the same problem, I have closed almost all my applications, reinstalled latest Java running on Vista 32bit.
This problem have been for a long time on stable version, downloaded latest beta today and the problem remains. sometimes it exits JD 5 times in a row
or even more, sometimes it works for 15 minutes.
ALL other applications works on my computer so don't tell me it is my fault.
and yes, files like these are saved in JD folder: hs_err_pid4552.log
btw, I've also closed my virus scanner and no firewall is active in my computer.
