Default NO docs.google.com Yet? still?

First, I appreciate the work that goes into making a application like this. It is extremely helpful, and when working as designed, its really great.

That being said, how goes it on the, "Making it work with docs.google.com" Account?

I searched before posting this, and it seems like this issue goes back YEARS.

At least, can we compromise?

Instead of the WARNING
Download not possible at this point in time - wait or try with your google account! (docs.google.com)

Could you change it to something more appropriate like:
"Download not possible at this point in time - If we ever get around to figuring out how add docs.google.com in (HA!), it just might work, but honestly, after many years of trying it is beyond our reach, so don't even bother clicking on the account manager icon and trying to add your google account because it will just be an exercise in futility! It will only cause you to make a snarky post on the forum highlighting an issue that we are hoping you will just forget"

By saying, "try with your google account", you are giving us false hope, when you honestly know it doesn't work.... programmers sick joke?
:outch:

How about a Patreon for the team that solves it?

far as I'm aware google docs/files does work.
we do have account login issues for google/youtube that probably nearly a year old, so if files require login it could fail due to that.

Please wait for Appwork or psp to respond further feedback.

Well... I am not too proud to say, "its operator error"... but in this case.

I get the WARNING that I should try using my docs.google.com account...

SO I got to settings, hit the account manager,
ADD search for plugin and select docs.google.com

Put my username/password to to docs.google.com in and click save

Jdownloader thinks a bit... and then says

Cannot add account because login failed.

Now, I am currently logged into docs.google.com with the SAME username/password so I know it works.

If I am doing something wrong, I'll heat up the humble pie with crow sauces, clean my plate and go directly to paypal to send the JDownloader folks another $5.

dono, google do some weird stuff. maybe due to unknown client login event ? or 2factor? you get additional steps which I believe we do not support.

You might misunderstand something:
1. If we would do that for every broken plugins' login process, simply maintaining the "login is currently broken" messages would probably take too much time for us to handle
2. We are not too proud to display another errormessage.
In the download process we are always trying to show the correct exceptions so upper handling can do its job and display an errormessage accordingly.
I will not change the message that appears when you attempt a DRive/Docs download.
3. However it really isn't looking good for the google login - especially because we cannot just use their API and the web login process is constantly changing.
You are free to tell me other tools that can handle this fine - and I mean downloadmanager-like tools, not just single Python scripts
For this reason, I changed the errormessage that appears when you try to add a Google Account:

We cannot use any official Google APIs ...

I have reverted the above mentioned changes because appearently the login did still work for some users.

Added cookie login and enforced this for all users - the old google login method is not used anymore.

Well you shouldn't - I mean you don't need to do this via browser either

In my tests, my Google cookies lasted for several weeks and counting ...

It also depends on how you've logged in into your google account via browser.
Always make sure to tick the "remember me" or "trust this computer" checkbox.
