Default How to have featurette folder download inside movie folder adopt folder structure

Please can anyone help with my issues?

Every time I download a mega folder that contains a movie folder, and a featurette folder. JDownloader creates a folder called "Featurettes" in my movie download directory. So, when I download a mega movie folder that has a featurette folder, that featurette folder gets added to the folder JDownloader created.

The movie folder gets added perfectly fine to the download directory. But, the featurette folder gets added into the download directory but into a folder that was created by downloader called "featurettes" which I do not want it to do, I want the featurette folder to be added within the movie folder together.

It's extremely annoying because I have to manually move the file to the movie folder I downloaded, and I have a lot of movies so it's constant scrolling. Before, the featurette folder was added with the movie folder, it was never added to a separate folder that was created by JDownloader.

Here's an example:

1. Movie folder contains the movie and has a featurette folder

2. JDownloader creates a separate download/folder
https://i.imgur.com/mucbkp9.png

3. JDownloader creates featurette folder in my movie directory folder
https://i.imgur.com/he7gxoq.png

4. Inside the featurette, folder is the featurettes

5. My pacakagizer settings
Spoiler:

It was never like this for me before, whenever the movie folder contained a featurettes folder, it would get added inside the movie folder. So, when it finished downloading, I would go to the movie folder and boom the featurette folder is there, I didn't have to go to the "featurette" folder JDownloader created.

P.S. Once this folder is created, any movie folder I downloaded that contains a featurette folder, they're all added there.

Hi Phnessed,

1. Please provide example URLs.

2. This is the desired behavior.
To turn this off, you were already on the right way:
Simply disable the predefined Packagizer rule "Adopt folder structore".

Hello, so I disabled "adopt folder structure," I closed JDownloader and re-opened it. I then proceeded to add the link that contains a movie folder and has a featurette folder within it. But, JDownloader still created a folder in my directory called "Featurettes" and added the featurette files there.

If I were to provide a log, you think you're able to see what's going on behind the scenes?

Disable pre-defined packagizer rule "Create subfolder by packagename" too.

unfortunately, it's still creating a featurette folder in the download directory instead of adding the featurette folder within the movie folder. I'm not really sure what else to do, it didn't do this a couple of months before, not sure if I changed something on my end or what, but I don't recall tweaking any settings

Do you want me to provide a video?

Settings --> Advanced Settings --> "use last download destination as default" --> Make sure this is DISABLED

Settings --> General --> Download Folder --> Browse --> Make sure "Subfolder by package" is DISABLED --> Save

Man if I can shake your hand i would, but given the current global circumstances, i extend my virtual hand out to you. You saved me so many headaches, thanks for the help!

confirmation it's solved, featurette folder is added within movie folder: https://i.imgur.com/rajGj40.png

p.s for future users, follow all the steps psp listed but leave "adopt folder structure" enabled in the packagizer settings. Your preference though, but it's going to create the "featurette" folder again.

Also, here's my settings if anyone has the same issue!

Evening,

So, I wanted to write an update regarding this post. I recently factory resetted my pc due to some issues i was experiencing. So, I had to re-download JDownloader, so being that it's being downloaded for the first time again, the settings were all at default. I copied a link with a folder that contains a featurette folder, and it put the featurettes folder in the movie folder with no issue.

BUT, I did notice that if i manually add the link by clicking "add new links" it creates the seperate featurettes folder. I was so confused, so i copied the link again, and this time I waited for JDownloader to add it automatically to link grabber, and it didn't create the featurettes folder.

I did it again manually, and it created the seperate featurette? Is this perhaps a bug? The packagizer rules or something doesn't apply when adding links manually? I can send my settings again if needed

Hi again,

when you're manually adding URLs there is a checkbox on the bottom right corner in the "Add links dialog" which states "Information overwrites packagizer rules".

This is because when adding URLs manually, we expect users to manually set packagenames and want these to be used.
Simply uncheck that checkbox and you'll have the "packagizer behavior" no matter how you add your links.

Yes, you're absolutely right! I've seen that option before, my apologies!

Hint If you ever start using our browser extension: The "Add links" dialog of the extension also has this checkbox and there it is also enabled by default
